⚾️WAYCROSS WARRIORS - 2026 SPRING/SUMMER SEASON RECAP⚾️

As another season comes to an end, I couldn’t be more proud of this group of boys and everything they accomplished.

The Waycross Warriors finished the season 23-10, including winning the final two tournaments entered. But as proud as I am of the wins and the significant record improvement, those things only tell a small part of the story.

Throughout the year, we competed against some really talented teams—many built with multiple players from different towns across South Georgia. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but there is something pretty special about watching a core group of hometown boys compete, grow, and win together.

And grow they did.

There were plenty of great moments and a whole lot of fun along the way. We watched these boys become better baseball players, better teammates, and a more complete team. But some of the most important lessons came during the tough moments—the losses, the mistakes, the bad innings, and the games that didn’t go our way.

Baseball has a way of teaching you that things aren’t always going to be easy. Sometimes you get knocked down. Sometimes things don’t go your way. What matters is how you respond.

These boys learned how to respond.

They learned to keep competing, trust each other, pick one another up, and overcome adversity. To me, that growth means more than any trophy ever could.

23 wins. 10 losses. 2 Gold tournament championships, 2 Gold Runners Ups, 1 Silver championship, and a whole lot of memories made.

Most importantly, a group of local boys who got better, had fun, competed their tails off, and represented Waycross/Ware Co the right way, not only with the Warriors but with the Ware Co Allstar teams as well. I want to also give a special shoutout to Tucker H., who is a future Pierce Co Bear, he did a great job representing for his hometown as well!

To our players—be proud of what you accomplished and how far you came.

To our parents and families—thank you for the time, travel, support, and trust you gave us throughout this season.

And to my fellow coaches—thank you for pouring into these boys and helping them grow both on and off the field.

I’m proud to be their coach, and even more proud of the young men they are becoming.

Waycross Warriors. What a season. 💚⚾️

The Warriors travelled to Douglas Ga this past weekend to participate in the Smile Like Hadleigh Benefit tournament. It was a hot, but awesome day for baseball. The boys were on their game all day. Game 1 was against a familiar opponent who has had our number everytime we’ve played them. The Warriors’ bats showed up and the defense and pitching was spot on, taking the W 9-1. In game two, the bats, defense, and pitching stayed hot, as we won 9-3 against a team who had beat us in our very first game of the season, 13-3. Then it was on to the Gold bracket championship against a really good team who whipped us pretty bad the only time we’ve played them (0-17). The Warriors got down early and battled back and carried a lead into the last inning, but ultimately fell short 7-8 in a tough loss. The Warriors continue to improve and grow each week. For a team comprised of all but 1 player from Ware Co, in a travel world where most teams are made up from players across several counties, these Warrior boys are showing at times that they can compete with the best teams around. Proud of these boys! Go Warriors!!

Saturday was a beautiful day for baseball. The Warriors travelled over to Homerville to take part in an SGA Tournaments event. The day started off rough for the boys. Dropped game 1 vs the eventual gold bracket champion 6-5. Defensive mishaps ultimately cost us that one. Game 2 was against a really good team and we couldn’t make enough plays to get off the field in the 1st inning to have a chance. We ending up taking a tough loss 0-17. The boys rebounded nicely though in bracket play. The sticks came alive in game one of bracket play and the pitching and defense was excellent as well. We won that game 15-2. Then the boys finished off the day on a strong note by winning the Silver Bracket championship 12-0, again timely hitting and strong pitching and defense paved the way.
Proud of the Warriors for keeping their heads up and rebounding nicely to end the day with some confidence and hardware! Go Warriors!!!

The Warriors traveled to Valdosta, GA this past weekend to participate in an 18-team SGA Tournaments event. The day started off great, as the Warriors finished pool play 2-0 and earned the #5 seed in the Gold bracket, while also giving several players much-needed reps at other positions. In bracket play, we faced a familiar yet solid team, but ultimately paid the price for some base-running mishaps and fielding errors. All in all, it was a great weekend getting to play this amazing game! Proud of these boys! Go Warriors!

What a wild weekend. Our Warriors traveled to Moultrie, GA this weekend to compete in a 12 team SGA Tournaments event. Our boys were resilient throughout the entire day. Game 1 won we barely held on but got the W 10-9. With no rest and having to pack up to go to another complex these Warriors battled and picked up another W 14-9. We then had to head back to the original complex with no rest to play our first bracket game. With some fantastic pitching and defense, clutch hitting and aggressive base-running, these Warriors won 11-3. We ended up dropping the Gold Championship game but these boys took home some hardware as runner ups. They have a lot to be proud of for the way they competed all day long. They continue to work hard and get better every week. Go Warriors!
