We take a moment today to remember and honor those who lost their lives on a day that changed our nation forever.

As a Massachusetts community, we particularly keep in mind those who started their day leaving Boston Logan on American 11 at this moment (7:59 am) and those that followed shortly after on United 175. We stand together with New York, especially, and the whole country today.

Check out the inaugural Eau Claire Curling Club Pride Spiel!

We're excited to announce that registration is officially OPEN for the inaugural Eau Claire Curling Club Pride Spiel! Join us February 5-7 for a weekend of incredible curling, great community, and entertainment that's sure to impress. Open to LGBTQIA+ members and allies, this spiel joins a growing number of Pride Spiels being hosted throughout the U.S. and Canada.

We're proud to partner with area LGBTQIA+ organizations within the Chippewa Valley to highlight the amazing community right here in Eau Claire, and are committed to supporting those organizations through this event.

We are looking for 24 eager teams to celebrate with us. Registration is $440 per team and will remain open until full. 4 game guarantee, and all food, drink, and entertainment are included with the registration fee.

Volunteer of the Month - Elaine Ritchie

Better late than never!

Elaine Ritchie should have been honored last season shortly after Broomstones hosted the USWCA National Bonspiel, but we thought it would be lovely to start off the 2026-27 season with a toast to congratulate Elaine.

Elaine has worn so many hats over the many years she has curled and volunteered at Broomstones. Most recently, Elaine was the Chair of the 2026 USWCA National Bonspiel, which ran remarkably smoothly and was an enormous success.

Elaine is also a past Chair for the All-American Bonspiel and has held various positions with the USWCA including USWCA Representative from Broomstones. Elaine has been the league coordinator for Griffin and for Derby in the past and was also a member of the History and Recognition Committee. Elaine curls in Derby and Regatta. Off the ice, she enjoys golf, travel and spending time with her family.

Please thank Elaine for her many years of service to Broomstones the next time you see her.
