Sometimes racing is about a lot more than racing.
Most of our USMTS fans know by now that longtime USMTS racer Joe Duvall was seriously injured in an accident at work on August 25, suffering burns to more than 50% of his body.
Joe remains in the burn unit recovering, and thankfully he continues to make great progress. He still has a road ahead of him, but anybody who knows Joe knows he’s one tough SOB.
Joe has also done something pretty special this season. He hasn’t missed a single USMTS event in 2026.
And we’re not going to let that streak end at the 28th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree.
USMTS will be allowing Joe’s team to use a substitute driver at the Fall Jamboree so Joe can keep his perfect attendance intact while he continues his recovery.
Now here’s where things get interesting…
The beautiful Duvall Electric hauler pictured below normally carries Joe and his race car up and down the highway.
IT’S NOT COMING TO DEER CREEK.
Joe’s wife has made that pretty clear. 😂
If Joe isn’t riding in that truck, that truck and trailer isn’t leaving Oklahoma.
And we’re certainly not going to argue with her.
There’s just one little problem…
JOE’S RACE CAR IS COMING.
Somehow that race car is going to make the trip north to the Fall Jamboree.
And when it gets there…
Somebody will be climbing behind the wheel.
Who is it?
We’re not telling you.
Yet.
We’re going to have a little fun with this over the next several days. We’ll give you some clues, show you a little history and see if the longtime race fans can figure out who is going to wheel Joe Duvall’s race car at the 28th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree.
For now, take a good look at that big beautiful rig.
Because it isn’t coming.
But Joe Duvall’s race car damn sure is.
Stay tuned… this story is just getting started.
