Meet Our Beginners Director: Liane Knapp! 💙💛

We're excited to welcome Liane Knapp as our new Cyclones Beginners Director!

Liane brings more than 30 years of skating instruction experience, helping young skaters build confidence and develop strong fundamentals from their very first time on the ice. Throughout her career, she has worked with children ages 3 to 13, teaching Learn to Skate, Ponies, Mites, and other youth skating programs.

A lifelong skater with a background in figure skating, Liane has loved hockey since she was a young child. Growing up in the North Country, she spent countless hours at the rink cheering on her brother and eventually took up hockey herself in her 20s.

Beyond the rink, Liane is also proud to work with the Silver Blades Special Olympics Figure Skating Team, helping athletes discover the joy, confidence, and sense of accomplishment that skating can bring.

What Liane enjoys most is seeing young skaters grow week after week—celebrating each new skill, building confidence, and helping every child develop a lifelong love for skating.

When she's not coaching, you'll often find her cheering on her son, who is a goalie for the Cyclones 16U AA team and the Aquinas Varsity Hockey team.

We're thrilled to have Liane leading our youngest Cyclones and helping create a fun, positive first experience on the ice for every new skater. Please join us in giving her a warm Cyclones welcome, we can't wait to see the impact she'll make both on and off the ice! 💙🏒

One of our very own, Coach Grady Monks, has been nominated in the “Who is Section V’s All-Time Ice Hockey Player?” poll sponsored by Faber Builders!

Many know Grady for the countless hours he’s spent behind the bench coaching Cyclones players, but his impact goes even further. As our former Travel Director, he dedicated years of volunteer service to helping our organization grow and creating opportunities for our players and families.

We’re incredibly grateful for everything Grady has given to our club, and we’d love for our Cyclones community to show its support.

Today we’re celebrating all of the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, coaches, and father figures who make youth hockey possible.
