We are deeply saddened to announce that We Rock the Spectrum Wellesley will be closing permanently on September 27, 2025. Unfortunately, financial strains have made it impossible to continue. Over our nearly four wonderful years, we’ve built an inclusive haven for kids of all abilities, thanks to the unwavering support of our incredible community. Together, we’ve achieved so much, providing after-school respite care, organizing inclusive events, and fostering a nurturing spirit. Our dedication has been recognized with accolades like the 2024 Best of Boston for Children’s Indoor Play Gym and the Boston Celtics’ “Heroes Among Us” award. We’ve been featured by WCVB’s Chronicle and the cover of Baystate Parent Magazine, Boston Parents Papers family favorite for 2024 and 2025, Best Small Business award from the SEED corporation and citations from the House of Representatives and State Senate showcasing the difference we’ve made. We’ve created countless cherished memories through birthday parties and field trips, all possible because of your love and support. We did it again! 🏆✨ We are beyond grateful to be voted Boston Parents Paper’s Family Favorite Indoor Kids Gym for another year! 💛 This award feels extra special because this past year has brought its share of challenges — both personally and business-wise. There were plans we couldn’t bring to life and moments where we felt like we were falling short. But this recognition is such a beautiful reminder that even in the toughest seasons, there are people who see you, support you, and believe in you. 🩵 And as if that wasn’t enough to fill our hearts, today we also opened a surprise box from the Boston Celtics 🎁💚 — thoughtful gifts honoring our Heroes Among Us Award from March. The irony? These injuries didn’t happen out on the streets—they happened at home. There are no words that fully capture what many autism parents endure behind closed doors. The meltdowns. The physical toll. The emotional weight. And still—we’re expected to show up to work and function like everything’s fine. For working caregivers, the challenge is immense. That’s why it’s critical for employers to understand: this is a real issue. Flexibility, accommodations, and compassion aren’t luxuries—they’re necessities. We don’t live by a predictable schedule. Tonight, while the rest of the family gathered to watch the fireworks as we do every year, Caden and I stayed behind. He’s been having a very tough time, and being in public spaces just isn’t something he can manage for too long right now even though I never give up trying completely. But my mom, in all her love and wisdom, FaceTimed us so we could still be part of the celebration. ❤️ Even though we weren’t there physically, we were included. And honestly, that small gesture meant everything. Inclusion isn’t just something we talk about in school or at work, online or in sensory gyms — it’s a way of life. It’s in our choices, the compassion, and the love that finds a way. It’s been a long journey. I can’t believe it’s been about six years since that day we made the decision to open a sensory kids gym. What happened to our family at that trampoline park (another parent got angry and picked up Caden and threw him to the side to ensure he was staying far away from his child) should have never happened to him and to our family but sadly treatment like that happens very often. I was getting discouraged because Caden hasn’t been open to doing many outside activities lately but today he asked to go to We Rock the Spectrum and even said “We’re going to We Rock the Spectrum!” A full sentence, gave the IPAD a break for almost two hours and had so much fun with his big brother Nate!!
