Most people fail because they don't learn the RIGHT skills. - Tony Robbins ⠀

I heard this quote the other day and it stuck with me ⠀

Daily I talk to 100s of people about their health and fitness journey⠀

Most are hitting plateaus, getting results and losing them twice as fast, or just struggling to start⠀

While admitting all of this, most still tell me “well Tannon, I know what to do. I’m just not doing it” ⠀

If you’re not doing it, it’s because you don't know how to accomplish it with whatever roadblocks or distractions have stopped you⠀

A lot of people have success getting into shape in their teens and early 20s⠀

Let’s be honest, It's easier ⠀

No kids, no family to take care of, maybe you have a job but it’s simple 9-5 before you move up to management with more responsibilities⠀

Life’s good. You have a ton of free time so you can afford to spend hours working out, cooking, etc⠀

Fast forward a few years.. You have a partner, a couple kids, maybe got a few promotions (a career or your own business) and time doesn’t come so easy⠀

This becomes your biggest adversary because the skills you learned that worked for you in the past no longer help because it simply takes up too much time ⠀

So yes, you have the skills and knowledge to get in shape ⠀

But unfortunately that knowledge doesn’t apply in this phase of your life⠀

People don’t have a time, laziness, consistency, or energy struggle to get in shape ⠀

The sole issue for everyone is having the correct knowledge in order to get your goals within your lifestyle, while enjoying the process ⠀

Once you figure out the How and apply discipline to the plan, everything falls into place ⠀

Sunday lesson:

The older I’ve gotten the more I’ve realized that help and a team is necessary for success.

Once you come to that realization and find people to compliment where you lack, support you in tough times, and keep you accountable.
Success is inevitable.

Powerful statement made by a gentleman I spoke with a few days ago pertaining to how he feels currently about his overall mental and physical health⠀

That stood out to me the most because I know that’s how so many people feel at this very second ⠀

Not depressed and waking up hating how they look or feel⠀

Also not waking up full of energy and loving it either⠀

If this is you (myself included), the only question I can ask is…⠀

Why are we settling? ⠀

Why do we feel like it’s ok to go through life not trying to be the best version of ourselves?⠀

The version we enjoy being, doing the activities we love to do, wearing the clothes (or lack of clothes) we’ve longed to while being comfortable, and living each and every day with confidence⠀

Settling for mediocrity is never going to make you happy with who you are ⠀

The most important part of “self-love” that most miss is the striving to be the best version of yourself ⠀

What you love you work on.⠀

Don't wait, Don't settle. If you need help, raise your hand

Sometimes we see our trials/difficulties as a sign that we aren’t on the correct route or that we’re not “made” for it.

I believe it’s the opposite. All goals will come with a list of setbacks and heartaches to prepare and grow us into the person we have to be to accomplish them.

2️⃣ different parts to your health and fitness journey ⠀
(Both are necessary)⠀

Structured⠀
Have a laid out gameplan of exactly what to do and how to do it. Looks like a gym routine build out for you and your specific goals. Also will be a nutrition plan (meal plans), showing you exactly what to eat, how to prepare it, and maybe even when you eat. ⠀

This is needed because structure and exact guidelines is the easiest way to change and ensure you get results. ⠀

Free form ⠀
This is simply doing the things you enjoy doing that benefit your journey. Going for walks, playing sports, going dancing, etc. It also includes enjoying your food, being able to live life without constantly meal prepping, carrying tubberware around, or eating the same food. ⠀

Life is meant to be enjoyed and experienced. It’s impossible to do that when your plan only teaches you to do things in a robotic fashion. ⠀

Once you learn and implement both aspects, your journey will be rewarding with results, enjoyment, and longevity!

It’s said that humans make 35,000 decisions on a daily basis⠀

35,000! ⠀

Most of us make nearly 300 decisions on just food in a day (if you’re like me it may be more lol)⠀

Out of those 35,000 decisions and choices… only about 27 will hold any significant value⠀

That’s .008% of everything we make choices on will make a difference in the long term⠀

Most of us can tell when those choices come up⠀

The issue is what to do about these decisions⠀

Easy rule is to use the one above ⠀

First decide who you want to be, what you want to have, who you want to provide for, what type of life you want to live⠀

Second make every decision based on that avatar or vision you’ve created ⠀

If it doesn’t coincide with who you want to be in the future; it’s easy to say no⠀

If it’s something you know will take you closer to that avatar you created; then you have to decide to look past the obstacles or mental roadblocks that are holding you back ⠀

Anything thing from fear of failure, self-doubt, anxiety, etc⠀

Move in confidence despite everything you feel⠀

Knowing you’re making this decision based on who you want(and need) to be and they will ultimately take your destination!

𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴.⠀

And as you could probably tell, that was exactly my feeling before and after this workout⠀

No, there’re wasn’t this joyous feeling of accomplishment⠀

Not even an smile I made it through ⠀

Just did what needed to be done to get my goals and moved on to the next thing for my daily schedule ⠀

Last week I asked a few question to see what your biggest struggles with hitting those fitness goals were⠀

The vote for “ what's the biggest stop to your best overall health?” was not even close with Discipline/Consistency winning in a landslide⠀

Making perfect sense because everyone I’ve ever met has suffered with this area in health and fitness as well as many other aspects in life⠀

Here’s the cheat code to creating that discipline needed to get your goals and stick with the process⠀

The easy roads to discipline are this⠀
1) Setting deadlines⠀

2) Discovering what you do best, what's important to you, and what you enjoy; then do those⠀

3) Focusing on habits by replacing your bad habits and thought patterns, one-by-one, over time, with good habits and thought patterns.⠀

Remember, It’s not a race. Break down your goals into the minute details so that you can conquer each one and build momentum
