The 3E’s field trip to Lockhart’s Fall Fest was a success! 🍁🏁

Bailey went from 5th to 3rd in her heat, putting her 6th out of 13 to start the feature.

The feature kicked off with a three-wide fireworks salute, followed by a single-file start. Bailey fell back in the pack before working her way up to 4th, then slipped back to finish 6th.

We went expecting pretty trees and a possible butt whooping. Came home with good laps, a few lessons, and a pretty solid run instead! 😂 Another page in the books! 🏁

🏁 9.19 RACE RECAP @ AMS 🏁

After last week’s rainout, Bailey tackled the AMS doubleheader and brought home two 4th place finishes despite some more tough luck.

In the last few laps of the second round heat race, the throttle started sticking, so Dad got a new cable on before getting out for the second feature.

As they were coming around to complete lap two of the second feature, the 12jr got turned between turns 3 and 4 and took a hard hit from another kart that had nowhere to go. The rain delay gave us just enough time for a little emergency reconstructive surgery to get the 12jr raceable again.

With plenty of help and encouragement, Bailey got back out and finished the night. Huge thanks to the track medics and everyone who checked on her and helped get the 12jr back together.

We’ll gladly take the two 4th place finishes and, at this point, we’d happily settle for one week without a parts shopping list. 🤨🏁

We may have missed an important update. 😬 Bailey’s MR arthrogram showed a healing fracture, and she has officially been released with no restrictions other than rebuilding muscle and “taking it slow”… okay, Doc. 😂🏁

So, Bailey spent the weekend working on getting comfortable behind the wheel again, taking both the 3E and 12JR out for some seat time.

The expectations look a little different now. Same goals, just a different perspective. One goal that never changed is that the only person Bailey really has to be better than is herself.

Fear is okay. If you think you’re bigger than fear, you’re not fooling anyone but yourself. The hard part is knowing when to listen to it and when to push through it. 👊

So yes, you’ll still hear us pushing her. We know what she’s capable of, but we also know being too cautious on the track can create problems of its own. We want her comfortable, confident, and safe out there, while keeping every other driver and crew around her safe too.

For now, our wins look a little different. Getting back in and gaining confidence back with each lap. Dad is packing extra patience, which is a win all by itself. 😂 Mom is packing extra pants. 💩😂

We’re back. We’re just not quite ourselves yet. One lap at a time. The rest will follow. 🏁

The “welcome backs,” “great to see you back out there,” “thatta girls,” fist bumps, and extra encouragement have all been so good to hear. It really is the small things, and sometimes a few kind words mean more than people realize. Pass them out whenever you can, to anyone who might need them. 🩷

Still no MR arthrogram report, so no appointment again.

Still waiting for answers. 🩷🏁

Bailey did great with her MR arthrogram Tuesday, but the report still isn’t back, so today’s orthopedic appointment was cancelled and moved to Tuesday, 8/25.

For now, we’re still waiting to find out what comes next. Until then, she’s taking full advantage of the downtime… with a very committed couch buddy on duty. Waiting on answers is exhausting… apparently for everyone involved. 🐶😂
