Some Pictures from Meet of Champs Yesterday! Congrats on all the great swims!!!

Congratulations to the 31 swimmers who made Meet of Champions on Thursday! As anticipated all relays made it as well. Making this meet is no joke and means they are among the best in all of Northern New Jersey.

Entries are in the attached PDF as well as our social pages. If you are seed 1 through 16 you are guaranteed to swim that event, if you are seed 17 or 18 you are the first or second alternate and will be called on if someone above you drops out. If you are suddenly unable to attend you must let Conor know as soon as possible via email.

We are aware of the weather situation. JAC in New Prov has offered to host us indoors if it comes to that. They have a state of the art facility and is a worthy alternate site. A decision will be made around 6pm tomorrow so will update everyone then.

7:35 Your swimmer must be checked in with Conor or he has to have heard you are on your way via email/contact with another parent

Couple Other Notes:
The Adress is 1278 Springfield Ave, New Providence NJ 07974. They have a sizable parking lot but it fills up quickly. Additional Parking is at our Lady of Peace Church around the corner at 99 South Street New Providence NJ 07974. There is a path past the tennis court to the front door of the pool. If you park on Springfield Ave you will be ticketed.

The warmup pool will be available again this year. Swimmers will be able to go to a separate pool during the meet to re-warmup if there was a lot of time between regular warmup and their events.

We should be good with the waivers for the kids since we swam at New Prov this year.

🚨NEW RECORD ALERT🚨yesterday at Divisionals Aemilia Gjona broke the Girls 13/14 Freestyle record with a time of 28.53. The record was previously set by Coach Charlotte Lepis on July 12th, 2017 with a time of 28.80. This is Aemilia’s 4th record of the season and has also given her the lead for most records overall by any female athlete.

Reminder about Divisionals on Monday:

WE STILL NEED ALL 6 SECOND HALF TIMERS AND A RIBBON STICKER PERSON (stickers are preprinted, no writing involved just putting it on the ribbon and putting it in a bag). ALL POSITIONS MUST BE FILLED. IT IS NEVER TO LATE TO TRY FOR THE FIRST TIME. Congratulations to the 64 athletes we are sending to Divisional’s this year! Making divisionals is a great accomplishment and everyone that did should be very proud of the hard work they put in to get here. Everyone’s entries can be found on this post.

First time divisionals parents, this paragraph is for you! At Divisionals we are swimming the 4 teams we swam this season all at once. There are two main differences. 1) there is no score, this is a strictly individual event. 2) is there are multiple heats of every race. In a normal meet we get 3 lanes for each race. For example there could be four “Girls 9-10 Freestyle” races. After the meet is done the list of times goes in a big pot with all the times from the other divisions. The top 18 times from each races big pot then get to move onto Meet of Champions next Thursday in New Prov. We will know who makes it Tuesday afternoon.

Divisionals will be held in Westfield. Our warmup time is listed promptly at 7:55 AM. When your swimmer arrives they MUST check in with Conor immediately. If you swimmer doesn’t check in/Conor hasn’t heard you’re coming via email by 7:40 AM they will be scratched from the meet - no exceptions. We are listing a 7:10 AM arrival so there’s time to get settled and check everyone in. If your swimmer can’t make it please notify Conor by email. The goal is to have the meet done with around 11:15am.

With Divisional’s we are required to have a few different volunteer roles to fill. PLEASE SIGN UP. THESE MUST BE FILLED. Each team must provide 6 timers for the entirety of the meet. We broke it into halves so we really need 12 people. We also need someone to help with the ribbons for top finishers from our team only. We know it’s early but this is unbelievably important. Happy Meet Day!

Today we will be swimming our last duel meet of the year as we swim Away at South Orange tonight. The address is a little complicated - your best bet is to put South Orange Middle School into your GSP and drive around back (70 N Ridgewood Rd, South Orange Village, NJ 07079). There isnt a ton of parking there so would encourage getting there a little early. With that in mind we are asking kids to arrive ~5:00pm, Warmup will be at 5:30pm, and the meet starts at 6:00pm.

Unless you told us your swimmer cant make it EVERYONE SHOULD BE IN! Caroline really worked overtime to make sure everyone could be a part of our last meet and in at least 2 events. Divisionals email will be out after tonight’s meet.

�Tomorrow morning we have another road meet away at Westfield. The address is Memorial Pool, 713 Cumberland St. and N. Scotch Plains Ave Westfield NJ 07090. We are asking the kids to arrive ~8:30AM, warmup will start at 9:00am, and the meet will start at 9:30am.

As a reminder we have limited space so we cant get as many kids into away meets and we generally don't ask you to travel long distances unless your swimmer or family is in 2 or more events.

Happy Meet Day Eve! This is our last home meet of the year, its crazy how fast the time flies. Tomorrow afternoon we are swimming at home at Cedar Street vs New Providence. We are asking the kids to arrive around 5:00PM, warmup will start at 5:30pm, and the meet will start at 6:00pm.

The traditional lineup will be out tomorrow at practice but for now you can find a list of everyone with what they are swimming is in the email Conor sent out with just the list of names on this post.
