Welcome to the page of the West Caldwell-Caldwell Dolphins summer swim team!

Reaching out with one of my favorite things we do all year! For years now Coach Caroline like her sister before her has been running our annual food drive with all collections going to our food bank right here in town. We unfortunately couldn’t find a good time to do it during the season but she will be hosting it at Cedar Street this Sunday (8/24) and Monday (8/25). Attached is the flyer that the food bank is in need of.

Our friends and neighbors are in need and this is a thing that we are very proud of doing every single year.

As promised here are the entries and info for Meet of Champions this Thursday in New Providence.

Congratulations to the 31 swimmers who made it this year. Making this meet is no joke and means you are among the best in all of North Jersey. Everyone should be extremely proud of themselves for the accomplishment. Entries are in a PDF attached to to the email I just sent out as well as below. If you are seed 1 through 16 you are guaranteed to swim that event, if you are seed 17 or 18 you are first or second alternate and will be called on if someone above you drops out. If you are suddenly unable to attend you must let Conor know as soon as possible via email.

Important times:
6:45am Gate Opens for Swimmers and Coaches
7:00 Gate Opens to the Public
7:35 Your swimmer must be checked in with Conor or he has to have heard you are on your way via email/contact with another parent
7:55 Our Warmup Begins
8:20 Our Warmup Ends
8:30 The Meet Will Start
~10:40 The Meet will end (pending weather)
~10:50 League Wide Coaches Relay

Couple other important notes:
The address is 1278 Springfield Ave, New Providence NJ 07974. They have a sizable parking lot but it fills up quickly. Additional parking is at Our Lady of Peace Church around the corner at 99 South Street New Providence NJ 07974. There is a path past the tennis courts to the front of the pool. If you park on Springfield Ave you will be ticketed.

The Warmup pool will be available again this year. Swimmers will be able to go to a separate pool during the meet to re-warm up if there was a lot of time between regular warmups and their events

If your swimmer was at our duel meet at New Prov they do not need to fill out another waiver from this year. Dominick Johns, Lexi Castro, Kaitlyn Mills, and Ellie Ferlauto will need to. There will be copies at practice tomorrow and at the pool Thursday.

This year our only volunteering obligation is to have 1 awards person and 2 timer in lane throughout the meet. We only need 5 parents to sign up, if you can please do! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0445A5AC2CA6FB6-57714086-meet #/

Go Dolphins!

Below is a better look at Mondays rundown of how the day should go. Before we get to that thought if your swimmer is going on Monday please volunteer to time, we need 6 more scattered through different points of the meet! This is a league meet so it’s not an option to piece it together last minute. In years past we have randomly assigned roles to parents and we don't want to have to do that. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0445A5AC2CA6FB6-57649466-divisionals #/

Now for the rundown…
7:00 Gate Opens
7:10 Please start to arrive by then
7:40 All Swimmers MUST check in with Conor or parents let him know via email that they are on their way. If not checked in or he don’t hear anything your swimmer will be scratched without exception.
7:55 to 8:15 Our Warmup
8:15 Timers Meeting with the officials - All timers must report - Coach Daniel will help distribute watches
8:30 Meet Starts
11:15 Give or take the Meet Ends (Likely earlier)

We will know Tuesday afternoon who has made Meet of Champions but if your swimmer is in a relay anticipate going.

Thank you, please volunteer, and as always reach out to Conor with any questions, comments, or concerns.

This post is to provide info about Divisionals and show the entries. Unfortunately due to size and time restrictions not every person is able to make the meet - this is a league run not team run meet. With that said we are super happy to be sending 63 athletes this year! Making divisionals is a great accomplishment/honor and all that made it should be very proud of the hard work they have done to get to this point.

First time divisionals parents, this next paragraph is for you! Divisional’s is when we swim in a meet against the other 4 teams we swam this year all at once. There are two main differences though. The first being that there is no final score, this is a strictly individual event, your swimmer is swimming their hardest for their best time possible. The second being there are multiple heats of every race. In our normal meet we get 3 lanes each race and that’s it, at divisionals there could for example be four “Girls 9-10 Freestyle” races. After the meet is complete the list of times goes in a big pot with all the times from the other 4 divisions. The top 18 times from the big pot of (as an example) “9-10 Girls Freestyle” then get to move onto Meet of Champions next Thursday in New Providence. The top 16 will swim and 17/18 will serve as alternates if one of the 16 cant swim/is unavailable. We will know who makes it Tuesday afternoon.

Divisionals will be held in Westfield again this year. Our warmup time is listed promptly at 7:55 AM. When your swimmer arrives they MUST check in with me immediately. If you swimmer does not check in with Conor or he has not heard that you are coming via email by 7:40 AM they will be scratched from the meet - no exceptions. We are listing a 7:10 AM arrival so there is time for us to get settled, get in the pool, and check everyone in. If your swimmer can’t make it please notify Conor by email not the sign out sheet. The goal is to have the meet done with by 11:15 (pending weather).

With Divisional’s we are required to have a few different volunteer roles to fill. PLEASE SIGN UP. THESE MUST BE FILLED. Each team must provide 8 timers (4 first half/4 second half), a new role of “scorer” - as I said there is no points and everything is put into a computer, I think this is just to help the person read the paper, and someone to help with the ribbons for top finishers from our team only: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0445A5AC2CA6FB6-57649466-divisionals

More info Saturday, congratulations to everyone, please volunteer, and most importantly go Dolphins!

THIS IS FOR TOMORROWS MEET VS SOUTH ORANGE. Like last week am posting this stuff early as to not get confused tomorrow when we post Wednesday morning vs Westfield info.

Tomorrow is our meet vs South Orange at Home! Warmup will start at 5:30, and the meet will start at 6:00. Normally we ask for you to show up around 5pm but please be advised parking is going to be a MESS tomorrow. Rec is having their carnival in the park starting at 4:30 and told people going they can use Cedar Streets Parking. If you can please try and get there before then to assure you have a parking spot. If there is no parking lot parking parking on the road of Cedar Street will be okay.

Everyone is in! If there is a change in availability please email Conor directly, don’t use the sign out book at this point and please make it clear that its for South Orange not Westfield since that info will also be out tomorrow.

Here is the link to volunteering. Conor and Caroline will both not be there tomorrow meaning Ella is in charge and while she’ll have help with other coaches she will have a lot on her hands. If you can please volunteer to make sure we are covered! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0445A5AC2CA6FB6-57371017-july #/

We have a Bake sale that we will take donations for like at our other home meet. Water/Chips/baked goods are all welcome. All the money goes right back into helping the team and makes things we do possible.

Go Dolphins

This is a new pool for us so no tips or or tricks - but it is a yards not meters pool so it’s like South Orange not like Cedar Street.

We beat them by 1 race at our pool, should be another close one - let’s go get em.

Photos from West Caldwell-Caldwell Dolphins Swim Team's post 07/15/2025

THIS IS FOR TOMORROWS MEET VS NEW PROVIDENCE. We are posting early in an attempt to not mix it with the Summit info.

Tomorrow is our Blue Out as we swim against New Providence at Home! With it being the blue out we are asking you to Arrive by 4:45, we’ll do a team picture at 5:25, warmup will start at 5:30, and the meet will start at 6:00.

For those who don’t know the blue out is always our biggest meet of the year. Coaches will provide face/body paint, beads, and other blue themed items. It’s basically a big party with music and a chance for us to have a lot of fun. We encourage everyone in attendance to wear blue! The only thing we ask from the kids is to cheer loud and if they go to like camp make some signs and posters!

We got virtually everyone in! A lot of effort was put into getting almost everyone in the meet to make sure they can experience the fun. If there is a change in availability please email Conor directly, don’t use the sign out book at this point and make it clear its for the New Prov meet.

Here is the link to volunteering. It is a really busy day for the coaching staff so if we can please make sure we fill all the spots. We are happy to teach anyone any position! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0445A5AC2CA6FB6-57370982-july

We have a Bake sale that we will take donations for like at our other home meet. Water/Chips/baked goods are all welcome. All the money goes right back into helping the team and makes things we do possible.

Get excited Dolphins!

Our end of year picnic is only two weeks from today! It’s a great way to celebrate the year that was and recognize all the great accomplishments of the kids.

The Picnic is Monday the 28th (same day as divisionals), we ask that everyone arrive by 4:45 with the ceremony will start at exactly 5pm with ribbons and awards. Pizza, Ice Cream, and some other snacks will be served and the pool will be in full use immediately following!

Mrs.Garrido and Mrs.Murray have graciously stepped up to help run it this year. We are only going to charge $30 per family to cover the food/medals/ice cream. Please Venmo Mrs.Murray -Murray-29 and include your swimmers name in the description so we can keep track of who paid.

Please RSVP at the following link if your swimmer plans on attending. It will ask you just to list your swimmers name and let us know how many members of your family will be coming so we can get the proper amount of food. https://forms.gle/ntXMAkXK2FUs4hQ67

Like last year we are asking for a little help with some ancillary items to help us out you can sign up to help provide things like coolers with ice, folding tables, and some more snacks items. Thank you for the help as always! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0445A5AC2CA6FB6-57532046-endofyear #/
