You often hear people say you need to โdo the workโ ... sแดสา แดกแดสแด ๐
I have been doing โthe workโ on myself for most of my adult life.
Itโs what drew me to yoga in my early 20s.
Working ... to heal from a lot of childhood chaos.
Along the way, I have had a few pitfalls which took me off my path throwing me into some even deeper holes...
but eventually I climbed out & worked some more.
Thinking that some day, after โdoing the workโ, I could check the box and be all good.
I have come to realize, for me,
that day isnโt coming ...
but not because Iโm not worthy, not good enough or just too fu**ed up...
BUT because i am สแดแดแดษด & thatโs just life.
These days Iโm seeking ME !!!
Still working สแดแด
I have stopped trying to change myself &
now want to สแด แดสsแดสา!
This to me is sแดสา แดกแดสแด, sแดสา สแดแด แด + sแดสา แดแดสแด....

Really trying to really listen

My brain wants to demand that I do my ashtanga yoga practice without modifications & get out on long runs .
Like I have been able to do for years.
But thatโs painful for me right now.
Somedays I try. I push. I feel pain. It hurts.
Somedays I listen. I walk. I feel good. It heals.

In some ways it seems we have been in a very long state of winter ....
In & out of hibernation/ quarantine.
The energy & feelings of winter ....
going inward, stillness, rest, staying at home, baking, reading...
Even depression, isolation, sadness.
So this seasonal shift doesnโt feel so different to me.
But I want to find ways
to let go of what now needs to go
& let in what needs to come in ~
as we begin this new season ...
& soon this new year.
