To be honest, we don't usually get many college kids who seek us out... and let's be real, it's probably because we're a gym that specializes in strength training for fitness beginners & adults over 50 who want to get stronger, leaner, and live pain-free. But Vineet wasn't like most college aged kids.
Back in 2022, he showed up wanting to get stronger, healthier, and feel better in his body. Nothing extreme... just a young guy already choosing to prioritize his health and surround himself with people who wanted to grow too. Since then, he’s kept coming back. Summers home from Syracuse. Holiday breaks. Short visits. Every time it felt like, “Vineet’s back!” Now he’s crossed 250 hours with us. What’s been coolest to watch isn’t just the strength he’s built... it’s the confidence and body awareness. Learning how to move well. Listen to coaching. Make adjustments. Trust himself more. 💪
From college student to Syracuse grad, Vineet’s become a huge part of this community, and we’re really proud of the work he’s put in. 250 hours is a big deal, man.👏💪😎

A lot of guys over 50 think pain means they have to stop doing the things they love. Joe’s story has been the opposite.
Over the past few years, we’ve taken a really patient approach with his training because of his history with lower back pain. We focused heavily on core strength, trunk mobility, and building stability little by little. When things improved, we progressed. When things flared up, we adjusted. No rushing. Just consistency.
One of the biggest wins? Joe can now confidently sit back up after heavy bench presses without needing assistance. That may sound small, but for someone with a long history of back issues, that’s real strength and trust in your body returning. And recently, after working on shoulder strength and mobility too, he golfed 18 holes completely pain free... something he honestly didn’t expect. 500+ hours later, Joe’s proof that getting older doesn’t mean giving up. It just means training smarter 💪

There are a lot of people who walk through our doors wondering if they’re “too far gone” to start. Too much pain. Too many limitations. Too many setbacks. Maria’s story is exactly why we believe it’s never that simple. When we first met, she said, “'I want my life back. I want to feel good.” At the time, she was navigating autoimmune arthritis, gout flare ups, nerve ablations in her spine, back pain, and all the stress that comes with being a single mom and teacher trying to hold everything together.
Even walking long distances or getting up and down from the floor felt difficult. But she showed up anyway. And slowly, consistently, things started changing. Now she’s pushing heavy sleds, playing pickleball with her son, moving better, feeling stronger, and building confidence in what her body can do again. Not because things were easy. Not because progress was perfect. But because she kept going through the hard seasons too. 100 sessions later… stronger, more capable, and more hopeful. We’re really proud of you, Maria!!❤

100 sessions in less than a year… that’s a huge accomplishment, and Kallie has earned every bit of it. When she first started, the only injury consideration she listed was having “knees that are shot.” And honestly, that’s a feeling so many people walk through these doors carrying. Uncertainty, limitations, aches, old injuries… wondering what’s still possible. But Kallie committed to the process anyway.
Not just showing up for workouts, but leaning fully into the habits outside the gym too. Meal prep, portioning, consistency, learning what her body needed… she stayed intentional from the start. And the progress speaks for itself:
---> +3.5 lbs water mass
---> +1.1 lbs dry lean mass
---> +2.7 lbs skeletal muscle mass (moving from “below average” to “normal” range 💪)
---> -6.3 lbs body fat (yes, lost 6.3 pounds of body fat! Incredible in such a short time!!)
That’s real strength and resilience being built over time. We’re really proud of you, Kallie.

Some people don’t realize what’s missing until they finally start building strength. Mamta came into Bent On Better already doing yoga, walking regularly, and staying active. But like a lot of adults, she realized movement alone wasn’t enough anymore. She wanted to feel stronger. More capable. More confident in her body.
Now she’s 100 sessions in 💪 And what makes this story special is HOW she got here.
She started with a frozen shoulder, multiple past abdominal surgeries, hip limitations, and a lot of hesitation around weights from previous experiences trying to figure things out alone. So we slowed things down. Focused on form. Built trust first.
Fast forward… the same woman who once hesitated carrying 15 pounds in each hand just deadlifted 145 pounds for reps. That’s not just strength. That’s confidence. And through all of it, Mamta has remained thoughtful, coachable, kind, and encouraging to everyone around her. 100 sessions later, she’s not just exercising anymore. She’s building a stronger future for herself. Mamta, we’re so proud of you.

Some milestones matter because of the strength it takes to come back. Maggie just hit the 250 Better Club. And this one feels deeply earned. When she first started back in 2022, her body was dealing with a lot. Hip and foot discomfort. Knee pain. Shoulder tension. Wrist stiffness. Movement didn’t always feel easy or comfortable. The goal wasn’t perfection… it was building strength the right way and finding a path that actually felt sustainable. And honestly, her journey shows what real life looks like for a lot of busy adults. Job changes. Stress. Hard seasons. Injuries. Taking a step back… and then deciding to return anyway.
One of the best examples? She made the decision to come back to B.O.B. last November… and literally the next day sprained her knee at roller derby practice 😄 (very “Thrash Panda” behavior). Most people would’ve delayed starting again. Maggie limped through the doors anyway, and we adjusted everything around what her body needed that day. Now? She’s deadlifting triple digits again. Moving confidently. Warming up smarter. Trusting the process more than ever. And maybe the best thing she said during her celebration was this: “You can always come back.”
That right there is the story. Not perfection. Not never struggling. Just continuing to return to yourself, over and over again. Maggie, we’re really proud of you. So glad you came back. And so glad you’re part of this community.

Some milestones feel bigger because of the journey into them. Nithya just hit the 100 Better Club and is over one year strong with us. And knowing how this started makes it really special. She didn’t jump in right away. She watched her college aged son, Vineet, go first (for 2 years!). Saw him grow, build confidence, find his place. And over time, she stepped into it too… which takes its own kind of courage.
When she started, the goal was simple. Build strength. Improve stamina. Do it in a way that felt safe. Especially with a history of arm surgeries and some hesitation around upper body work. And now… things look very different. That strength is real. That confidence is real. You can see it, and more importantly, she can feel it. She still has those moments where she’s not so sure… but she tries anyway. And that’s where the growth happens. Nithya, we’re so proud of you. Really glad you’re here.

Some milestones matter because of everything that tried to get in the way. Bill just hit the 500 Better Club. And this wasn’t a straight line. Like a lot of busy dads… work, three kids, full schedule… there were seasons of 3x/week, then 2, sometimes 1… sometimes none. But he never disappeared. He stayed connected. Showed up when he could. And every time life pulled him away… he found his way back. That’s what I call the 'fitness dial.' Not all or nothing. Just adjusting your effort to match life… and not quitting.
Even after doing PT for a frozen shoulder, he stepped back in and we agreed… lower, slower, more intentional... and let's not overlook his other past injuries and surgeries, including a spinal fusion, and everything else he’s worked through… Bill has never used those as reasons to step away. He trains so he can show up for his kids… especially his youngest. 500 sessions isn’t about perfection. It’s about persistence. Bill, we’re proud of you. Really glad you’re here.

John just hit the 250 Better Club. And this one feels different than his first 100.
Back then, it was about learning. Figuring things out. Building a foundation. Now… it’s about how he applies it.
Coach Bobby talks a lot about how hard John works. That’s always been there. But what’s really changed is how he trains. Slowing things down. Focusing on control. Choosing quality over just adding weight. And … that’s what made him stronger. There was a time 295lb deadlift didn’t feel right. Instead of forcing it, he leaned in. Fixed the weak links. Put in the reps the right way. Now he’s lifting 315lbs+ with confidence and no pain. That’s not just strength… that’s ownership.
And he does all of this while balancing work, family, kids, and life. John, 250 is that shift from learning… to owning it. We’re really proud of you, man.

Some milestones matter because of the trust it takes to keep showing up. Bill just hit the 250 workout sessions completed (AKA the 250 Better Club) and is over two years strong on his journey here. And this one didn’t come easy.
He came in wanting to feel capable again… but with knee surgeries and ongoing back issues, there were real question marks. Days where he wasn’t sure if he should even come in...But he did. And each time, he trusted us to meet him where he was. Adjusting when needed. Challenging him when it made sense. Helping him leave feeling better than when he walked in. Over time, that added up. Stronger knees. A more resilient back. More confidence in his body. Now he’s doing things that once felt out of reach.
Bill, this is what 250 sessions looks like. Consistency. Trust. Progress. We’re really proud of you, man!❤❤
