The Dance Center

Last weekend concluded Brandywine Ballet’s Fall Series with its wonderful Fall Repertoire performances. The performances displayed the amazing choreography and talent of the Company and dancers. Repertoire performances are so important to provide opportunities for the dancers to learn, perform and experience different genres and styles of dance and every piece in this series was masterfully executed and audiences loved them. We are so proud of all of our dancers and especially the youngest to perform - the new Brandywine Contemporary Trainees who debuted during the premiere of Tim Early and Lina McMenamin’s Mosaique.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the dancers and Company and saw one of these incredible performances and to everyone behind the scenes who made this production possible.

Now, it is on to The Nutcracker! Children’s casting was published and most of the children’s parts have fittings this weekend. Rehearsals for the full cast will begin next weekend and we cannot wait! This year’s Nutcracker is sure to remain the all-time favorite of audiences and to be bigger and better than ever! Tickets are already on sale through brandywineballet.org and they usually sell out. Purchase early before selection becomes limited! Cheers to Nutcracker season!

IT’S ALMOST NUTCRACKER SEASON!

Casting will soon be undertaken for Brandywine Ballet’s 2026 production of The Nutcracker and it is not too late to sign up for your dancer to be cast!

Students enrolled at The Dance Center in Elementary 1 Ballet and higher are eligible to participate and perform in the production.

The organizational kickoff meeting for students signed up will be held tomorrow, Saturday, October 3rd at 4pm.

More information and a Nutcracker sign-up form was emailed out to all parents. We encourage all ballet students to take advantage of this opportunity to perform in this holiday classic with Chester County’s premier, regional, non-profit ballet organization! It is the largest, full-length production of its kind in Chester County and surrounding counties and, as the official school of Brandywine Ballet, all children’s roles in the production are performed by Dance Center students.

Don’t miss this opportunity for your dancer to perform in this year’s Nutcracker with Brandywine Ballet! We hope to see you at Saturday’s meeting and email [email protected] to sign up or with any questions.

✨2026 Senior Spotlight: Daniella!✨

Daniella has trained with us for 15 years and her favorite memories at the studio are taking classes with her friends. This fall, Daniella is attending West Chester University for Urban & Environmental Planning and will continue dancing through Brandywine Ballet’s Certificate in Dance Program at WCU!

Daniella and her family have been part of The Dance Center for many years and they are so supportive of the studio and Company. Daniella has always been a hard-working and dedicated dancer from the start when she started as one of our tiniest little Bluebird Princesses in the recital. We love watching her on stage and she has grown so much in her technique and abilities over the years. We are thrilled that she will be staying with us to continue her training and performing with Brandywine Ballet.

We are very proud of Daniella and the dancer she has become and continues to be! Congratulations, Daniella!

Our 2026 dance campers had the most incredible time during our August dance camp week!

Led by the most amazing dance camp faculty - Broadway’s Elizabeth Earley-Tostado and Brandywine Ballet Principal dancers Farrin Monroe and Emily Young - our campers were treated to a week of dancing and fun and capped off the week with a fantastic in-studio performance for parents.

Campers spent their mornings in technique classes with Miss Farrin and Miss Emily in ballet and contemporary and then enjoyed specialty sessions in jumps and turns plus stage makeup application. After lunch, their afternoons were filled with choreography classes with Miss Elizabeth and Miss Farrin in contemporary, hip hop, and musical theatre. At the end of the week, each group had learned and performed two full-length numbers in contemporary and musical theatre and then the entire camp performed a combined musical theatre, jazz and hip hop fusion piece to music from Footloose choreographed by Miss Elizabeth!

Dancers were pushed beyond their current level and stretched to try new genres and techniques and had the most fun doing it. Our campers were so lucky to have the immensely talented Miss Elizabeth, Miss Farrin and Miss Emily as their instructors who taught them so much in just one week! It was such a treat and we’re already planning for next year.

Thank you to our dance camp students and families for spending the week with us and a HUGE thank you to Miss Elizabeth, Miss Farrin and Miss Emily for making this summer’s Dance Camp the best one yet!
