🥍Introducing Head Coach Bryan McDermott and Goalie Coach Billy Hunter!

Coach Bryan McDermott, a seasoned lacrosse mentor, has left an indelible mark on the sport. His championship legacy and passion for developing student-athletes are unparalleled. During his over 30+ years of coaching, Bryan led teams to the Delaware State Championships 🏆 in 2000 and 2003, earning him the title of Delaware Lacrosse Man of the Year twice. As a former midfielder/attackman for Penn State’s nationally-ranked NCAA team, he brings elite playing experience to the field. His coaching journey includes impactful roles at Episcopal Academy, Haverford College, and The Tatnall School. Coach McDermott’s dedication to fostering holistic growth in his players, both on and off the field, is a testament to his character. We’re thrilled to have him join our boys’ lacrosse program at Westtown!

Coach Billy Hunter is a lacrosse legend with a record-breaking history and a passion for coaching! His unique combination of playing and coaching experience sets him apart. Billy’s credentials are impressive: he was a 3x All-Central, 2x All-State defender, and the inaugural All-Delco Defensive Player of the Year at Springfield DelCo High School, and he set a PA state record with a 79.9% save percentage. In 2002, Billy was selected as an alternate for Team USA and has earned Elite Division MVP honors at prestigious lacrosse tournaments worldwide. After playing varsity at Penn State and then professionally for the Philadelphia Wings(World Champions 🏆 1998) and MLL, he coached at elite levels, including Episcopal Academy and Malvern Prep. Off the field, Billy is a proud father and husband, living in Malvern, PA.
