It was a beautiful day for Open Water State. 3 great things - toes in the sand , raceday snacks and our ❤️: 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️! Congrats to our 3 OWS swimmers this season who traveled to Lake Manteno to represent WCS.

WCS had three swimmers represent us at 11-14 Age Group Champs this past weekend.

Olivia McCollum and Allie Pollack represented the West Chicago Sharks at the 10 and Under Age Group State Championships this weekend.
Olivia swam three races on Saturday and did an amazing job! Allie swam 6 races over the course of the weekend and medaled in the 100 free (8th place) and 100 fly (7th place).
Congratulations to both of you on a job well done!

Illinois Senior Champ Wrap Up:

The Sharks headed to the Illinois Senior Championship State Meet held at FMC Natatorium this weekend and swam their hearts out.

We kicked the weekend off with Julia and Lucas swimming best times in their 800 Freestyles. On Friday, we had Caden H, swim a lifetime best 100 fly time, but just miss out on making the final.

Saturday saw all of the guys come and swim their individual events with Caden H, Kaden V and Bryce P all swimming good swims. The day was highlighted by a finals swim (his first ever at a state meet) by Will Smoley in the 50 free, where he finished 25th, and Lucas Kladder who finished 24th in the 400 Free (also his first state final ever).

The day wrapped up with great swims by Lucas and Julia in the 1500 Free with Julia placing 21st!

Great job to all our Senior Sharks!

Sharks Record Breakers

Congratulations to Julia LaPlata on breaking the team record in the 1650 Freestyle last night at the Illinois Swimming Regional meet! Julia was able to knock 13 seconds off the old record that had stood since 1998!!

Congratulations to the Senior 200 Free Relay team of Caden Huynh, Kaydden Grahl, Logan Bremner, and Will Smoley on breaking the team record at the Illinois Swimming Regional meet on Sunday afternoon! The guys were able to know off .2 seconds from the record that had stood since 2017!
