Five of our judokas competed in the Nanka Spring Tournament at Westminster High School. As each of them step into the mat during their matches, in our minds they are all already winners – whether they got a victory or not. Couple of our judokas placed today; and the rest bow respectfully and came off the mat – without crying. Each one of them strove to win every match, gave their best efforts, and tried to perform the judo skills that our wonderful Senseis taught them. By teaching our children more empowering beliefs about competition, we can help them enjoy and benefit from the competitive process. By keeping the bar high and working with them to develop the skills needed to get over that bar, we can help them become more self-reliant, mentally tough, and self-confident. We are so proud of Grant, Summer, Phoenix, William, and Benny for representing our dojo.
