Scores are just numbers on a piece of paper.

With our team, we reward effort, not results. Results come and go, but effort is something you control every single day.
When one of our archers has a great tournament, we congratulate them, celebrate for a moment, and then on Monday we’re back to work. We don’t spend much time talking about scores or placement because those are simply the outcome of what happened long before tournament day.

National podiums are different.

Competing at the NFAA Field Nationals and earning a place on the podium is incredibly difficult. It represents months, and in many cases years, of preparation. That deserves to be recognized.
This year, every one of our NDAA High Performance Team archers stood on the podium. Four National Champions. Three National Runner-Up finishes. And Misty earned a podium finish as well.
None of that happened by accident.
All summer long, we shot dozens of field rounds in the heat, the wind, and everything in between. I’ve been thinking about this tournament for nearly a year, and our athletes put in the work long before they ever stepped onto the course.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve listened to the conversations between the archers. They don’t come out and say it, but they’re beginning to understand that preparation and consistent effort produce opportunities. That lesson will serve them far beyond archery.
I’m proud of every one of them, not because of the trophies they brought home, but because of the commitment, discipline, and work that made those trophies possible.
The medals will eventually collect dust.
The habits they built this summer will stay with them for a lifetime

Mental toughness isn’t something you talk about. It’s something you quietly demonstrate.

The NDAA High Performance Team traveled to Bismarck this weekend for the NDACA State Field Championships. Over two days, our athletes shot 28 field targets each day, more than 120 arrows daily. The temperatures challenged everyone, but our preparation showed. Every athlete persevered, and I didn’t hear a single complaint.

We’ve spent the entire summer working on the field course. While we may not have trained in 100° temperatures, we certainly trained in North Dakota wind. More importantly, we prepared with purpose. This weekend, everyone showed up, trusted their training, and performed with confidence.

Years from now, I don’t think we’ll remember the podium positions as much as we’ll remember how we prepared, showed up, and simply did what we do.

This weekend will be a memorable one for me, not because of the scores, but because I watched months, and in some cases years, of hard work come together. I’m incredibly proud of every one of these athletes, not only for what they accomplished this weekend, but for the people they are becoming.

Not every week give you perfect conditions, but growth doesn’t wait for perfect

With the weather keeping us inside, we adjusted. Shorter distance. More reps. More focus on ex*****on.

And it showed
For most of this team, it was the best archery they’ve shot to date

That’s what happens when effort meets intention
Proud of this group

We’re right back to work this week, building on it

Members of the NDAA team wrapped up the indoor season in Bismarck this weekend. Nishu Bowmen hosted a Buckle Shoot, followed by team rounds built around mixed skill levels. Sunday was the ACA State Indoor 3D, long days and a lot of arrows.

I’ve always believed in rewarding effort over results. That said, this team put in the work all year and the results showed. We had Buckle winners, strong team round performances, money earned, and solid shooting across the board at State.

What stands out most to me is the way they support each other. That culture fuels everything.

Indoor season is a wrap. Now we shift gears to outdoor.

The full arc of athlete development

Hard work
Pressure
Fear
Process
Ex*****on
Emotional release
Growth

Because archery is hard, success has to be earned, when earned it changes the athlete.

These archers worked hard, prepared, faced fear and pressure, executed on their goals.

I saw different people at the end of The weekend as a result.

Growth, we’ve seen it all year!

NFAA Indoor Nationals, Memphis.
A weekend to remember, these four work hard, they earned everything while doing things the right way

Shout out to Gage on his podium finish, funny how just missing 3 X’s and you end up in 3rd. I think we’re living in the good old days of competitive youth archery, the standard is higher than ever.

We get a small break, have some fun this upcoming weekend at the Scheels Twin Arrow Classic, then more members join in and we head to Las Vegas for the Vegas Shoot.
