She built a Pilates studio in her backyard.
Tara didn't need to find a Pilates studio to work in. She built one.
After graduating from our 2024 Teacher Training, Tara completely ran with what she'd learned.
She took a shed on her property and turned it into a beautiful Pilates studio.
Tara says, “It has become a wonderful space for me, my family, and my clients. The training was worth every penny, and its teachings will impact me forever!”
We love seeing what our graduates do with their training because there isn't one right way to build a career in Pilates.
Tara created a private Pilates practice in her backyard.
➡️Other graduates have built thriving private practices of their own.
➡️Some work alongside physical therapists in PT centers.
➡️Some teach in established studios in their communities.
➡️And some end up right here at Pilates Defined.
The point isn't that you need to build a studio in your backyard.
It's that once you have a solid education and the confidence to use what you've learned, you have a lot of options for what you want to do.
Our Mat Teacher Training gives you that foundation.
You'll spend three months learning the Pilates mat repertoire, anatomy, movement principles, program design, props, and special populations. You'll observe classes, practice teaching, receive hands-on feedback, and learn how to work with the individual body in front of you.
(You’ll learn a lot about your own body and how you move as well.)
It's a 130-hour hybrid program, with three live training weekends once a month, and online coursework you complete on your own time. You can join us in person or live virtually from anywhere.
And you'll have lifetime access to your online materials after you graduate, along with opportunities for continued mentorship and education.
You don't have to know exactly what your Pilates career will look like before you begin.
Tara probably didn't know she'd end up walking across her yard to teach Pilates.
She just had the knowledge and built from there.
