BRICK Adventure Club kicked off with a climb! Big love to all who registered for our inaugural adventure this weekend . It was so rewarding to see how all of our work here in the BRICK box translated to the climbing wall. Our athletes picked up climbing faster than the average Joe and had fun while doing it! Our First Athlete of the Month for 2023 is Brent Myung! 🧱⚡️ If you’ve ever taken class with Brent, you know he keeps his attitude and pace on the up.

From Dublin, Ohio, Brent found BRICK by chance. He finished a workout around the corner and heard noises coming from our box. An investigation led to a one-month trial here and the rest is history.

His passions are food, friends and fitness! Brent prefers a chipper workout to an AMRAP, a bar muscle up to a sn**ch, and a back squat to the assault bike. If he were an animal, he’d be a bird. The man loves doughnuts of all kinds and he’s a night owl at heart. His dream vacation would be on a sizzling beach anywhere in South America.

Three truths and a lie about Brent: I’ve been to 27 countries. I was arrested by the Mexican Police last year. I hate Pizza. I was 2009 The Ohio State University Beer Pong Champion.

Introducing our BRICK Academy! Coach Kyle will be leading our Academy series beginning Sunday 1/8/23 with classes on Sundays at 12:30 pm & Wednesdays at 7:30pm.

The Brick Academy is a rotating series of 5 classes specifically designed to help familiarize new as well as existing members with the basic Crossfit movements. Coach Kyle will lead small groups with plenty of opportunity for individual attention. This is a great way for athletes to tackle complex movements step by step, build confidence, and cultivate community.

Folks can sign up/attend just like any other normal class. It will also feel like a regular Crossfit class with a warmup, skill learning session, and short WOD. Stay tuned for details on which movements we’re tackling which classes!

Athlete of the Month is back and Rebecca Elias is our December all-star! 🧱⚡️✨ An Angeleno, Rebecca found CrossFit as an outlet to calm her mind while tackling Nursing School. She believes in working out as “moving meditation.” By focusing on body mechanics and building muscle endurance, she has alleviated back pain and body aches.

Her passions include aesthetic dermatology (sun hats and sunscreen, baby!), women’s reproductive health and International McDonald’s. She loves tackling WODS named after female heroes like Cindy. For Rebecca, it’s all about pushing her mental resilience and physical stamina.

For a little late night treat, Rebecca mixes apple juice, cranberry juice, a little mini can of ginger ale, maybe some orange juice if it is available, and a Trader Joe’s raspberry/lemon/strawberry popsicle. And just like that, she becomes a better person. 

To her fellow BRICKers, Rebecca says, “thank you for being a lovely community to be part of. And always remember less can be more - except for sunscreen!” We’re proud to have you as part of the family! Stay calm and BRICK on!


It’s DE-LOAD Week! 🧱⚡️

We are now heading into the week of December 5th and it’s time to begin our de-load week. This should feel light and smooth throughout and we would like athletes to really think about managing their pace and effort on each workout to feel more flowy than at the edge of redline for these workouts. A couple are fun little challenges that should bring intensity up a bit, but for the most part we don’t really want to push as if this was a test week. Specifically the barbell conditioning pieces are ones we could see athletes really pushing up against redline, but we want athletes to take a measured approach to these. For the strength pieces this week we are keeping percentages in the 60-70% range to focus on speed and technique in the lifts. Let’s help each other manage stress and fatigue and stick to the prescribed percentages.

Exciting news! We now have our OWN custom BRICK app featured in the app store. If you search "Brick Los Angeles" in the app store or scan the QR code below you can download the app.

The app will allow for you to see the WOD of the day, as well communicate directly with management regarding your membership. Which allows for us to respond to you quickly and efficiently. It also has a really cool social feed, which allows for you to communicate with other members. You can talk about the workout of the day that crushed your soul, or how you can't wait to test your upcoming 1 rep max backsquat etc!

We are actively switching our member management platform from Pike13 to Push Press. So if you are a current member be on the lookout for an email from PushPress in the next 24 hours. They will be requesting you verify the existing information we have on file for you. It literally takes less than five minutes to verify/update. I need everyone to please take care of this before Tuesday at noon so I can move forward to the next steps of this transition process.

The subject line of that email will be "Action Needed - BRICK Los Angeles Migration Request". If you receive this email from Push Press, it's because you have a monthly membership or a redeemable class pass with BRICK. Please open this email to update your account information in the new system or let me know if you do not receive it.

It’s the Holidays! Which means our BRICK Community is giving back with a Non-Perishable Food Drive. 🥫🍠🍞

Remember all those shoes y'all donated over the course of the last year? Thank you so much! We were able to donate about 60 pairs of shoes to Dr. Luke over at Dignity Health Hospital in DTLA. Your old sneakers went to someone in need of shoes at the hospital.

We are continuing the trend of giving back this year with a non-perishable food drive this holiday season. Our donations will go to Union Rescue Mission in DTLA. We will do a drop off before Thanksgiving and and Christmas Eve.

You can drop your items in the cardboard donation box or below the neon BRICK sign!!
