Happy Sunday! That is not the sun in the background. One of the buildings on sunset has mirrored windows. The camera faces north. This reflection happens every morning.

Those of you who know jamesorjelly will know that he has incredible passion for growing amazing plants. Sadly for him but great for his friends he is selling most of his collection. I drove to his home last week and left with a pseudobombax and deuterochonia brevifolia. He showed me this astrophytum (in bloom!) and like an idiot I didn’t take it. I was home about 5 minutes and messaged him that I needed it! 🤣 Today I was at mezcalanursery and then I rescued the astrophytum. Very happy with this cutie! Jelly still has some great plants that will sell at excellent prices…

Adenia perrieri has leafs that sing with happiness in sunlight. Plants from from seed are expensive and hard to find. They have the potential to form a caudex. These plants were grown from cuttings. I love the beauty of the leaf canopy so much that the caudex doesn’t matter. A vine treated as a bonsai can do amazing things!

Steven Hammer Steven Hammer was standing in the opposite side of the table as I reviewed the many excellent options. He said, “Do you like flowers?” Months later this happened. As with all , they have their dead mummy phase which always makes me wonder if I killed it. When the new leaf starts to push away the paper thin died co**se of last year’s growth it is a good sign of survival. Thanks Steve for your excellent recommendation!
