Is it just me or does anyone else love exposed roots? vessel by
It’s a great day when any package from arrives! Two plants arrived with very different forms, but both gorgeous with nice thick caudex stems. The is about to bloom! And is in the house!
Yesterday I was at and when I finished work I took a quick detour to Long Beach to meet a grower who has mad skills with cactus and succulents. has an excellent private college of potted and grounded specimens. It was great to meet and chat. And I couldn’t leave without adopting a few plants! Thanks for the tour Gary!
Variegated gymnocalycium, fockea edulis, and Opercularya decaryi. My little jungle.
The exposed caudex root of Kedrostis africana is beautifully sculptural. The vine is beautiful, but I’m so in love with this caudex trunk! Thanks to for cultivating this
Thelo means ni**le. The surface of this cactus stem is covered in ni**les, so to call it a thelocactus is highly appropriate. Here I have a young plant and a very mature plant side by side.
Euphorbia gorgonis is a great caudiciform succulent that is very easy to care for. This one from has been with me several years. It gets more interesting every season.
When you Love all your plants it’s a little not right to have favorites, but this is definitely screaming “Love me more!” 🤣🤣🤣
Time to bloom! This is a recent acquisition from given a new home from .ceramicz It’s definitely time for this beautiful creature to show off!
This gorgeous Rebutia came from Trader Joe’s. Every year gets better. The most humble plants can become the most beautiful given a little time and TLC.
The figs took forever to ripen this year with our late summer, but it’s on now!
Cyphostemma uter northern form. I was nervous when this arrived from This growing season has been especially joyful watching it thrive.
First time flowering.
Crested three headed I should have entered this in the !!! They didn’t have one! This is a very rare crest. I admire all the people who grew the amazing plants that make up the show. It was my first time there at the Intercity Show. . It’s very inspiring and humbling when you consider the level of skill and extreme patience that it took to grow most of the plants on display.
I had a great day at the today. Exhibition isn’t open on Friday, so tragically I have to visit again tomorrow! 🤣🤣🤣 I found Bill from I always have questions for him and he is extremely knowledgeable and generous with growing tips. was next to I’m very excited to give a home to this and the I love watching the small plants become mighty, like the that is starting to crest! If any of you enjoy succulents, this weekend at the is a very amazing event. Lots of vendors showed up with great plants. Highly recommended.
First time blooming for me.
I ordered some of the South American soil mix from Manny at East Coast Mamancha at the end of May. The package never arrived in June but finally came yesterday. The label was placed over the box seam. As the box was deformed by shipping a crease formed that made the street address unreadable. Kudos to for figuring this out! Object lesson for sellers: avoid seams when placing the address labels!!!
A very old star jasmine. The vine thickened into a nice trusted trunk on its own. Natural bonsai. It liked sharing space with little succulents, so I brought them along when I transplanted. I’ll give shade until the roots regroup. It likes full sun during fall to spring.
Today was midsummer clean up day in the garden. The roof desk is a little overpopulated with plants from the balcony. I repotted a couple of plants and swept leafs. Good times!
Astrophytum myriostigma cv. Onzuka cristata - XL - Japan Some plants need time to set roots and show growth. Sometimes no change is great. As long as they don’t turn to goo or a hollow shell I’m grateful.
Imagine drinking unfiltered coffee. In the dog day heat of summer filtered light is smooth and welcomed.

Transplanted this year. It was time. Happy now.
Copiapoa cineria and vessel, both by Transplant yesterday. Very happy with this overall. I’ll fuss with top dressing later🤣
Does anyone else enjoy a group cactus party?! Matucana, notocactus and parodia. The gymnocactus in the old vessel middle was out growing its friends. Time to split them up. The current and old pot use plastic dividers to make transplanting less traumatic. Vessel by .ceramicz ❤️
Glorp is glorping beautifully! Last year it was half this size. Buy from growers who are truly passionate about their products. You will never be disappointed. 🙏❤️
