Today marks 7 years sober. Or I like to say - 7 years of FREEDOM!

It honestly blows my mind to think about. There was a time I couldn’t imagine life without drinking. I didn’t understand what was “wrong” with me… I just knew I felt sad, lost, and disconnected from myself and God.

But even in the darkest moments, there was a light… a deep-down knowing that I was created for more than that. And thank God my loved ones were praying, because I needed it. God answered those prayers in a big way.

Seven years ago, with the support of my family, I made one of the best decisions of my life. I completely surrendered, went to treatment, and moved to West Palm Beach to change my people, places, and things. That choice changed everything.

Since then, I’ve found emotional freedom - not just freedom from substances, but from shame, and being driven by fear and the belief that I wasn’t enough. Jesus met me in that place and showed me what real healing looks like.

Recovery led me to my incredible fiancé, to a peace I never thought I’d feel, and to a career I’m super passionate about. I get to walk alongside others in their healing and growth, and it fills my cup every day. What used to be my biggest struggle has become part of my purpose.

If you’re in the thick of it right now… please know there is so much more waiting for you. You are not too far gone. Reach out for support and keep the faith. 🙏🏼

I’m just really grateful for today. For God’s grace. For growth. For love and support. For Freedom! 💕

* 🇺🇸 CREATE A PLAN AND STICK TO IT.

* 🇺🇸 WRITE DOWN YOUR WHY. WHY IS IT WORTH IT FOR YOU TO STAY SOBER?

* 🇺🇸 BRING AT LEAST ONE SOBER BUDDY. COMMIT TO KEEPING EACH OTHER ACCOUNTABLE.

* 🇺🇸 PLAN WHERE YOU’RE GOING AND WHAT N/A BEVERAGE YOU’RE DRINKING AHEAD OF TIME.

* 🇺🇸 LEAVE EARLY, BEFORE PEOPLE START TURNING INTO LESS ENJOYABLE VERSIONS OF THEMSELVES.

* 🇺🇸 WHEN YOU GET IN BED, CONGRATULATE YOURSELF AND ENJOY A QUALITY NIGHT’S SLEEP AND A HANGOVER-FREE MORNING! ☀️

Six years FREE from the desire to drink today, by God’s grace 🙌🏼.

It’s been a complete identity shift, and honestly, sometimes I forget the depths of the struggle. The transition from chronic and destructive binge drinking to not even wanting to drink is nothing short of a miracle for me. The “hangxiety” (hangover + crippling anxiety), shame, frustration with myself, broken commitments, embarrassing moments, apologies, avoidance, and feeling lost and confused—there was a time I couldn’t even comprehend not drinking or not feeling anxiety about wanting to. I didn’t think I was capable. (I can’t — but HE can, and He DID!) I never imagined I’d have a career helping others with their sobriety and mental health. Thank you, Jesus!

As my Dad said, “God doesn’t abandon His kids.” I’m deeply grateful that my parents didn’t give up on me either. Thank you to every special soul in my life — family, friends, sober family, my wonderful partner Brian, and all my Sober Circle members. I love you all.

I commit to staying grateful for the discomfort of change.

God is providing both new and challenging opportunities to do some transformational work in me right now.

I genuinely believe that 2024 will be an amazing year as long as we trust the journey and embrace the challenges along the way.

We don’t grow without resistance! I’m learning to appreciate that. I would not have this perspective or feel peace and acceptance without my faith and my sobriety.

Change and growth push us to think differently and become a previously unknown version of ourselves. “And it is good.”
