A note for the January 17th Iaido Seminar from Herve Rouxel Sensei:

For those of you who are still on the fence about attending because you want to avoid kneeling kata, do not worry. The Aiki Toho Iai curriculum is a standing kata series. It is a martially dense curriculum that teaches practical iai skills.

For those who are bringing your own swords, please leave your shinken at home. Only unsharpened iaito and bokken will be permitted in the training area. All swords will be checked for safety before being allowed into the training area.

While photography will be welcome, please do not record any video without first directly asking Rouxel Sensei.

This seminar promises to be an enriching experience for swordsmen and Aikidoka alike! We hope to see everyone there!

For those of you who are not on our mailing list, save the date and come participate! Herve Rouxel, 6th Dan, will be leveraging his extensive experience in Iaido and Kenjutsu to highlight how the weapons technique and empty hand technique should be integrated. This first of many seminars will help make both Aikido and Iaido's martial elements more apparent. A great event for martial artists of any discipline but most especially practitioners of Aikido and Iaido.
