On this day, we fondly remember and reflect upon the life of the late Coach Wooden, who was born Oct. 14, 1910. 🏀

True True True…..a good team player in tennis seldom plays line #1, but is the player that can and will play with multiple partners, support the others, be there for their teammates win or lose, be a positive person at practice, and make others better by their work ethic…….

Be someone who adds value to every team you join.

That is humility! From an incredible athlete, giving teammates and coach credit during his HOF induction

Serena missed a great moment/opportunity to further enhance her legacy by starting her post match interview with “ first before I say anything I’d like to congratulate Ajla…these must have been tough conditions to play in with the crowd so much in favor of an opponent! I’ve been I that position myself several times in the past. She handled everything so well and played beautifully and tonight was her night on court as she played better” Hell, anyone could have written it for her…..she is the GOAT and we may never see another like her again in our lifetime….but humility has never been her strongpoint….and we all seem to like a humble champion. And that’s not at all critical of Serena, her career and certainly her extraordinary effort at the OPEN. Many say that great champions Need to have a bit of “necessary arrogance” which fuels their confidence that they can beat anyone at any time? IDK, I’m too far behind in winning majors to opine on that topic….LOL
