Chad was the very first person to sign with the West Portsmouth Tanks. He insisted on being the first ever player signed. Did I mention, he INSISTED that he was the 1st person signed 😊 Chad loved the community of West Portsmouth. He was young, but he carried that old school West Side loyalty that we seem to miss nowadays at times. He was so excited to once again play football in front of his family and friends, along with the kids he coached in the P*e Wee Football system. He was excited to play football on a field that he grew up playing on. A dream come true. Most especially, he was excited for his children to watch their father do what he did best,.... play football. He knew it was the best of what he was, and what he stood for. Chad Bennett was Tough, Strong, Fierce, and Loyal. A man couldn't ask for a better teammate, and a coach couldn't ask for more of a Warrior on the field. Forever a Tank, Forever the 1st Tank, eternally a Warrior.
We love and miss you Chad. Know that the memories we all share of you will never be forgotten. We will speak of you often, we will laugh about your antics, we will celebrate OUR victories, we will morn your loss. Rest in Peace.
One last time for you Chad Bennett #99 ROLL TANKS.......
The West Portsmouth Tanks are excited to announce Offensive Lineman Chad Bennett as the first ever signing in Tanks history. Chad was a 4 year starter at Portsmouth West High School, 2014 NFFL Offensive Lineman Of The Year. Chad is also a 2015 NFE AA National Champion. Chad has been a staple on the offensive line during his 3 year tenure leading the way for three different running backs to eclipse the 1,000 yard mark during his playing time for "That team to the East". Head Coach Jamie Rice explained "Chad Bennett is what an offensive Coordinator dreams about. He has plus speed for a man his size, he's agile on his feet, and he brings a tenacity that you love to have up front. We just became a better team today." Offensive Line Coach Tim Aldridge was also quoted as saying "Chad's just mean....he hits with bad intentions." Chad is also involved heavily with the youth sports at West Portsmouth and if his wife Tiffany cannot find him, she just calls "The Complex" on the West Side. They have three children, the oldest of which is Isaiah who plays football and basketball at "The Complex" ..........where his father will once wear the Orange and black and take the field.
