⚾ A SPECIAL NIGHT FOR WEST SENECA YOUTH BASEBALL ⚾

Last night was about something bigger than baseball.

We had the opportunity to host an All Star Showcase for the youth of West Seneca, and hundreds of parents, families, coaches, and kids filled Fireman’s Park for an incredible summer night centered around our community and our children.

We were also surprised with an incredible $10,000 check for equipment and educational opportunities through Assemblyman Patrick B. Burke's office and the PLAY Foundation. We are extremely grateful for their support and their investment in the kids of West Seneca.

Many residents may not realize how youth sports operate in our town. Our leagues actually pay the Town of West Seneca for the use of town facilities. Each organization is responsible for raising funds, finding sponsors, securing private donations, and negotiating its own agreement with the town just to provide these opportunities for our kids.

For years, West Seneca baseball has lost players to surrounding towns because of the opportunities and facilities those communities were able to offer. We want to change that.

WSYBA is now being led by a dedicated group of parents, coaches and volunteers who want to grow baseball in West Seneca, improve the experience for our families, and give our kids more reasons to spend their summer days at the ballpark.

And this goes far beyond wins and losses.

Youth sports get kids outside. They get them running, playing, communicating, learning teamwork, handling adversity, building confidence, and developing fundamentals that carry over into the classroom and everyday life.

Every child deserves the opportunity to play.

Seeing hundreds of people at Fireman’s Park enjoying baseball together showed exactly what is possible when a community comes together for its kids.

This is just the beginning.

We look forward to creating many more summer nights and unforgettable memories like this for the children and families of West Seneca.
