🥋 BUFFALO-NIAGARA MARTIAL-CON IS COMING — NOVEMBER 7!
This didn’t happen overnight.

What started more than a decade ago with the Queen City Laban Laro martial arts tournament has continued to grow, evolve, and become something much bigger.

On Saturday, November 7, the next chapter begins.

🔥 Buffalo-Niagara Martial-Con
🥊 Laban Laro Martial Arts Tournament
🥋 Martial arts demonstrations
⚔️ Special guests
🛍️ Martial arts vendors
💥 Competition
⚔️ Lightsabers & a little cosplay
🤝 And martial artists from different styles and schools coming together under one roof.

Laban Laro is still at the heart of the event, but Martial-Con is about more than competition.

It's about bringing the martial arts community together.

Whether you're coming to compete, demonstrate, represent your school, shop, meet other martial artists, or simply experience the action, November 7 is the day.

Over the next several weeks, we'll be revealing more about the tournament, guests, demonstrations, vendors and everything we're putting together for this year's Martial-Con.

📅 SAVE THE DATE: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2026

The road to Martial-Con starts TODAY.

The Filipino martial arts community has lost another of its icons with the passing of Grand Tuhon Leo Gaje this past weekend.

I trained with him only a handful of times, but I remember his energy, his dynamic presence, and the kindness he always showed me. I cannot speak to his day-to-day life or claim the closeness that others shared with him. I can speak to the impression he left on me and the legacy he leaves behind.

A leader’s legacy lives in the people prepared to carry the art forward. Through his lifetime of work, Grand Tuhon helped shape Pekiti-Tirsia and develop generations of practitioners who will now shoulder that responsibility. His absence will be deeply felt, but his teachings will continue through their hands, their students, and their dedication.

He was one of the remaining figures of an era we are slowly losing. With each passing, we lose another living connection to our history—to experiences and lessons that can never be fully captured in a book or recording.

To my friend Jade, his daughter, to his family, and to his students and everyone whose life he touched: my heart is with you.
Having lost my teacher, Remy Presas, and later his brothers Ernesto and Roberto, I know something of the grief that follows the loss of someone who helped shape your path. There is no easy way through it, and few words that can ease it.

If you need anything, or simply need someone to listen, please do not hesitate to call.

Rest in peace, Grand Tuhon.

Respectfully, Datu Tim Hartman

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has subscribed, watched, shared, commented, and supported the channel over the years. Whether you’ve been following from the beginning or just found us recently, I appreciate every one of you.

For me, this has always been about more than numbers. It’s about sharing Filipino Martial Arts, preserving the knowledge that was passed down to us, continuing to learn, and helping the next generation of martial artists grow.

25,000 strong—and we’re not finished yet. 👊🇵🇭

Thank you for being part of the journey.

🥢 Featured Division: Stick Fighting
Fast. Tactical. Exciting.

Stick fighting is one of the most anticipated divisions at Buffalo Niagara Laban Laro, where timing, precision, control, and strategy take center stage.

Whether you're a seasoned competitor or entering the ring for the first time, this is your chance to put your training to the test in a professionally run competition that welcomes martial artists from a variety of weapons-based systems.

Every exchange is a lesson.
Every match is an opportunity.
Every competitor leaves better than they arrived.

🇨🇦 CANADIAN ATHLETES — WE HEAR YOU! 🇨🇦

The Buffalo–Niagara Laban Laro Tournament has been serving the Can-Am martial arts community for decades, and we understand that times are tough.

With the exchange rate where it is, it has become increasingly difficult for our Canadian brothers and sisters to cross the border to train with us—let alone compete at our events.

So starting with our November 7, 2026 tournament, we’re doing something about it.
As long as I’m running Laban Laro, we will offer our Canadian competitors a 40% discount on competition fees to help offset the difference in the exchange rate.

No politics. No finger-pointing. Just martial artists helping martial artists.

🇨🇦 CANADIAN COMPETITORS: 40% OFF 📅 November 7, 2026
📍 The Rock — West Seneca, NY
📧 Reach out to me directly at [email protected], and I’ll help you make the arrangements.

Come across the border, compete, reconnect with old friends, make some new ones, and be part of Laban Laro 2026.

We look forward to welcoming Canada back to Buffalo! 🇨🇦🇺🇸

Over 300,000 Facebook followers, and I’m honestly overwhelmed with gratitude.

What started as a simple way to share my love for martial arts has grown into a worldwide community. Every follow, comment, share, and message helped make this moment possible.

This milestone doesn’t belong to me alone. It belongs to every person who has supported this journey, trained alongside me, shared my content, or believed in what we’re building.

We reached the first 300,000 together. Now let’s keep growing, keep training, and keep passing the martial arts forward.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. The next chapter starts with all of us.
