Mr. Davin Johnson finishes the weekend strong with a second bronze, this time the under 21 year old division. Well done sir.

Jude fought yesterday and lost a heartbreaking round 3 split decision from the Judges in his first fight.

CONGRATULATIONS to all the athletes, coaches & officials who participated in Yesterday’s Region 8 Regional Championship . Shout out to Master John Szyhowski our Regional Director!

Very proud of our 3 athletes who competed at the Region 8 AAU event in St. Louis, MO.
Leading the way in her last full tournament was Alia Burgess earning 4 gold medals and one Silver. Tabatha and Zakhra also crushed it giving us a clean sweep. 3 athletes, 6 Gold and one Silver.

Good luck to our AAU Olympic Sparring National Team traveling to La Loma, San Luis Potosí, Mexico (April 1–6).

We are excited to provide opportunity for our Olympic Sparring National Team Members along with our national team alternates! Our goal is to give as many opportunities for our national team members throughout their national team year.

Great weekend of training and giving to the athletes. North Indy TKD was able to have 2 students recognized for there hard work. Davin Johnson and Jude Bozarth. We had 4 students attend. Maddie Mitchell both days and Alia Burgess was there day 2 for the matches.

Let’s give a huge round of applause to our very own Mr. Davin Johnson, Mr. Price Bozarth, as well as Mr. Jude Bozarth for representing our school well this past week at the 2025 USA Taekwondo National Championships in Ontario, California!!

Across the 5 days of competition, July 22nd - 26th, each of them competed in their respective Age, Weight, and Belt rank divisions’. Here are their results:

▪️Mr. Price Bozarth | Junior Male -51kg Division
- On the first day of competition, July 23rd, Price was winning his Round of 32 preliminary fight up until he had to forfeit by Medical Bow-Out due to a pre-existing knee injury that he suffered earlier on in the competition season.

▪️Mr. Davin Johnson | Senior Male -74kg Division
- On July 24th, Davin had the opportunity to compete in the Under 21 yr. old USA World Team Trials and fought valiantly to earn 🥈 place, which in fact is his first ever National Medal!! If he had won the finals, he would’ve represented Team USA in Kenya for the World Under 21 Championships.

- The following day, July 25th, Davin competed in the regular Men’s -74kg divison for 17-32 yr olds and sadly lost his preliminary Round of 16 fight against a very tall and athletic fighter from Washington.

▪️Mr. Jude Bozarth | Cadet Male -37kg Division
- On Saturday, July 26th, Jude dominated his division by fighting 5 strong matches throughout the day and is now USAT’s 2025 National Champion in the Cadet Male’s -37kg 🥇!!!

- Next up for Jude is AAU Taekwondo National Team Trials in Houston, Texas on July 30th to close out his last year in the Cadet Division before we start prepping for the 2026 Junior World Team & Youth Olympic Team Trials this coming up January.

Very proud to say that North Indy is bringing home a 🥇& 🥈medal. We cannot be any more proud of these 3 gentleman. These results are a true testament to the amount of hard work they put in each and every practice!!

Out of the 5 athletes we are bringing home an additional 2 medals! Below are the results from each of our competitors:

▪️Mr. Jude Bozarth: Cadet Male -37kg
- Took 🥇in his division!!

▪️Ms. Ixy Xie: Cadet Female -29kg
- Took 🥈 in her division!!

▪️Mr. Price Bozarth: Junior Male -51kg
- Lost his first match in the round of 32

▪️Ms. Alia Burgess: Junior Female -59kg
- Lost her first match in the round of 16

▪️Ms. Maddie Mitchell: Youth Advance Female +40kg
- Lost her first match in the round of 16

With Jude and Ixy both medaling in their divisions, they both earned an invitation to compete at this year’s AAU Team Trials that are being held in Houston, TX at the beginning of August!!

We are ridiculously proud of these athletes, no matter the result of their matches. Each of them gave their best effort and left everything on the mat and that’s all that we ask of them!
