Move over, COVID-era eligibility… there’s a new eligibility shake-up.

A Colorado federal court has temporarily ruled that Division I athletes from the Class of 2022 who used up their eligibility this past season can return and play in 2026–27.

What does this mean?
• Former players could return to their teams.
• Coaches must still stay under the 25-player roster limit.
• Fewer roster spots may be available for incoming recruits over the next few years.

If this ruling stands, it could have a major impact on recruiting and roster management across Division I softball!!!!
