🎃 Table-or-Treat is BACK for its 2nd year! 👻

Our Sensory Friendly Table-or-Treat Resource Fair returns to WRTS Westford! This indoor trick-or-treating event is designed with our special needs families in mind. Kids can trick-or-treat table to table at their own pace, while parents gather resources and chat with our community partners.

🗓️ Wednesday, October 28th, 5–7 PM

What to expect:
🕸️ A calm, understanding space with no overwhelming crowds, loud noises, or social pressure
💜A broad selection of Community Partners who support and serve special needs families- Stay tuned for our list of participants!
🎟️ No admission fee!
🍬 Trick-or-treat stations throughout the main gym (And vendors with non-food items)
🎨 Festive activities in our Party Room
🛝 The swings will be available!
🧦 Bring your socks! Adults and children both need socks, and shoes stay in the lobby, just like Open Play.

⚠️ Please note: This is not an Open Play session. Smaller play items will be put away, the zip line and trampoline will be unavailable, and the Rock Shop will be closed with no retail sales during the event.

💙 This event is specifically for families with children with disabilities (and their siblings) who would benefit from extra opportunities to practice for Halloween.

🎃 Pumpkin Tattoo Session is BACK! 🎃

We had SO much fun last year that we just had to bring it back!

Love temporary tattoos but hate when they wear off? Like decorating pumpkins but hate messy activities? This is the best of both worlds, and if a few tattoos end up on you, we won’t judge! (We may have some just for adult tattoos too...)

🖤 Friday, 10/23- 3:30–6:30 PM
🎃 Choose from classic orange or white mini pumpkins (1 per child), then decorate and take your creation home! It’s a festive make-and-take for the whole family.

🌟 Tween Night Next Week! 🌟

Join us next Tuesday for our Monthly Tween Night- A special edition of Open Play JUST for our our tweens and teens to come play together, share their interests, and burn some energy. We give our big kids the gym to themselves- no little ones to worry about, and more peers to connect with!

🗓️ Tuesday, October 13th
⏰ 5:00pm–7:00pm
👧🧒 For kids ages 8+ (younger siblings welcome to tag along!)

We love having a "Coach" on staff during Tween Night to help facilitate the fun and give parents a chance to socialize too. Coach Jordan recently earned her Master's in Occupational Therapy and is preparing to begin her career as a pediatric OT. She loves creating fun, inclusive spaces where kids feel comfortable being themselves, and can't wait to help your tweens and teens build friendships!

🎶 Adaptive Music Class is coming to WRTS Westford! 🎶

Music is for everyone and we're so excited to bring an Adaptive Music Class to our gym this fall! This Adaptive Music Class is designed as a 30 minute small-group experience.

In these small group classes (maximum of 5 students), children will:

🥁 Play a variety of instruments
💃 Listen and move to music
🎤 Explore a wide repertoire of songs
🗣️ Build choice-making and communication skills

2 Group Options:
Early Elementary: ages 5–7
Middle Elementary: ages 7–9

Meet your instructor, Valerie Thomforde! Valerie is a music educator, choral director, and pianist with 13 years of public school experience with students in grades K–8. She's part of a neurodiverse family and loves finding ways to support all learners. 🌈

⏰Valerie is currently polling interested families on their availability for Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Let us know which works best for your family so we can lock in a schedule!
