That’s my 3 1/2 year-old niece 😍 She grabbed the smallest dumbbells in the gym so she could move exactly like her aunt — and nobody taught her to. She just watched.
•
That’s the whole thing, friend. Kids don’t do what we tell them. They do what we SHOW them.
•
As a vet, I see this every day — a puppy learns calm from a calm dog and fear from a fearful one. Little humans work the same way.
•
She isn’t “exercising.” She’s learning, deep in her body, that strong is simply how women move.
•
And a girl who grows up feeling strong walks into the world differently. She’s so much harder to make a victim of. That matters to me more than any rep.
•
I grew up watching the opposite, so I know exactly what gets handed down when nobody breaks the pattern.
•
Here’s your one thing this week: let one kid in your life catch you taking care of your body. Don’t explain it. Just let them see it.
•
Now go be the strong woman some little girl is already watching. 💪🏽🫶🏽
Empowered by Dana
I empower women of all ages to unleash their inner warrior through whole health self defense & dance
Let’s do a 5-day challenge together. 👊
Set 4 timers on your phone:
⏰ 9:00 AM
⏰ 11:30 AM
⏰ 2:00 PM
⏰ 5:00 PM
That’s it. Just FOUR little check-ins with your body throughout the day.
Each time your timer goes off, do these 3 simple movements:
✔️ 8 Wall Angels
Stand about a foot and a half away from a wall. Try to keep the backs of your hands and arms against the wall as you move. Great for opening up tight shoulders and undoing some of that “computer goblin posture” we all get. 😅
✔️ 8 Air Squats
Sit your hips back and feel those glutes wake up. No need to go fast. Just move.
✔️ 8 Front Lunges
Alternate legs or do all 8 on one side first. Whatever works for you.
That’s it. Tiny movement snacks. 🍿
You can literally do these anywhere:
At home.
At work.
At the gym.
In a bathroom stall at Target if necessary. 😂
I always tell people to do them BEFORE they use the bathroom because then it becomes attached to a habit you already do every day.
Unless it’s an emergency.
Don’t p**p your pants trying to be healthy, okay? We’re building habits, not trauma. 💀
The goal here isn’t perfection.
It’s teaching your body:
“Hey… I still care about you.”
Small consistent movement changes everything over time.
Try it this and let me know if you’re in. 👇
Hot flashes.
Low energy.
Stubborn weight gain.
Feeling “soft.”
Achy joints.
No confidence in your body anymore.
Women are being told this is just part of getting older.
But here’s what I see over and over again:
Most women do not need more restriction, more cardio, or another tiny pink dumbbell workout.
They need:
✔ Real strength training
✔ Better muscle support for hormones & metabolism
✔ Nervous system regulation
✔ Fuel-focused nutrition
✔ Training that respects injuries, stress, and recovery
✔ Confidence in their body again
This is exactly why I created Stronger After 40.
Inside my program, we combine functional strength, practical self-defense applications, mindset coaching, and sustainable nutrition so women stop feeling fragile and start feeling capable again.
And as a doctor with years of physical therapy experience, I teach women how to train safely without destroying their joints or running themselves into the ground.
You are not “past your prime.”
You just need a smarter strategy.
If you’re tired of feeling stuck in your body and ready to feel strong, energized, and confident again—DM me “STRONG” or apply to work with me through the link in my bio.
People see the workouts.
The muscle definition.
The snowboard videos.
The kickboxing.
The strong woman.
What they don’t see is the little girl underneath all of it.
The girl who grew up watching chaos.
The girl who learned early that women could feel trapped.
The girl who thought strength belonged to other people.
The girl who became a doctor at 25 but still didn’t fully believe she deserved to take up space.
This body was not built for vanity.
It was built for survival first.
Then healing.
Then freedom.
Every weight I picked up taught me I could carry more than pain.
Every bruise taught me I could recover.
Every mountain taught me fear and excitement can live in the same body.
Every woman I train reminds me why I refuse to play small anymore.
I’m not trying to help women become smaller.
Smaller waist.
Smaller appetite.
Smaller voice.
Smaller existence.
I want women to become undeniable.
Stronger.
Louder.
Safer.
More alive.
More joyful.
More present in their own lives.
Because when a woman finally stops fighting her own body…
she gets her LIFE back.
And maybe that’s what this was always about for me too.

Do you have a dog or cat with heart or kidney disease? This may interest you.
•
has a clinically proven product to help keep or put muscle mass back on your pet. I reached out to them after listening to their YouTube because I’d never heard of such a product. I was SO interested that I immediately ordered their human version, and am currently doing a self experiment.
•
Heart disease & kidney disease causes muscle wasting in animals and this makes them more fragile and exacerbates any arthritic or other musculoskeletal pain. The numerous studies they have on their website is impressive.
•
And, they did NOT ask me to do this post. I’m posting this because I feel this is hugely important for longevity and healthgevity in ourselves and our fur babies 😻🐶🐺
•
If you try it in your pet, will you kindly let me know if you see a difference after a few months? I’ll recheck my body composition after three months and again after 6 months 💪🏽
You don’t need another punishing workout.
You need strength that actually shows up in your life.
The kind that helps you:
✔ Carry everything without thinking twice
✔ Feel confident walking alone
✔ Protect yourself if you ever had to
✔ Stop second-guessing your body
Stronger After 40 isn’t about shrinking yourself.
It’s about becoming harder to break—physically and mentally.
We build real strength.
We layer in self-defense.
We fuel your body (no food drama).
And we train in a way that actually respects where you are right now.
Because strong women don’t just change their lives…
they change the people around them too.
If you’re ready to feel strong, capable, and confident again—DM me “STRONG” or grab your spot through the link in my bio.

I’m a vet by day…
and a personal trainer + kickboxing coach by night.
Honestly?
Both jobs are about the same thing:
Keeping the ones you love healthy, capable, and strong.
I work with women over 40 who are done feeling exhausted, disconnected, and stuck in survival mode.
We focus on the real stuff:
✔ Functional strength
✔ Self-defense
✔ Nutrition
✔ Confidence that actually carries into real life
And now I’m building it online…
so one day I can coach from anywhere.
Maybe even from a mountain in Mammoth between snowboard runs. 🏔️

Turns out my career path makes more sense than it sounds. 😂
Whether I’m helping animals stay healthy as a veterinarian or helping women over 40 get stronger through fitness and self-defense… it all comes down to the same mission:
Helping living beings stay resilient.
Not smaller.
Not punished.
Not chasing perfection.
Strong. Capable. Hard to break.
I work with women who are tired of feeling like they’ve disappeared into work, stress, hormones, caregiving, and everyone else’s priorities.
We train for real life:
• carrying groceries without pain
• having energy again
• feeling safer and more confident
• building strength that lasts
And yes… I fully plan on coaching online from Mammoth someday between snowboard runs. Manifesting that now. 😎🏂
If you’re over 40 and ready to stop running on empty, send me a DM or check out my Stronger Over 40 Starter Kit in my Stan Store.
Sometimes being a veterinarian means making heartbreaking choices—like helping a beloved dog with mouth cancer find peace. These moments remind me how deeply connected we are to the ones we care for. It’s not just about the animals—it’s about quality of life, whether I’m helping a pet, teaching self-defense, or guiding women to live stronger. It’s all about protecting what matters most. 💜
Happy heavenly birthday soon, Gram. Thank you for everything you gave me 🙏🏽🩷
This was my last cat & I loved this video since we both basically just wait for the next meal to happen… 🫶🏽💔😻. Does anyone share habits with their current or heavenly pet?
