The best coaches aren’t the loudest ones in the room. 🧠

Episode 6 of The Kapusta Playbook — Tomas opens up about what it really means to build trust between a player and a coach. Not the kind that comes from authority or ego, but the kind that has to be earned. He reflects on Ivan Hlinka, his coach at the Olympics and world championships, a former NHL player who led from the heart and never pretended to be something he wasn’t. Just himself. Always.

Trust isn’t given. It’s built, one honest moment at a time. 🏒

Exciting things happening in Czech hockey. Tomas Kapusta is building FAHA, the first North
American-style hockey academy in the Czech Republic. Players get the chance to train under
coaches from both North America and Europe, with practices modeled after the North American
development system.

At the same time, players are seen by scouts and coaches from teams across North America and Europe. Combined with Vaculik Hockey Agency’s focus on connecting young talent with opportunities abroad, this partnership creates a strong foundation for players looking to play overseas or train under top-level coaching.

Everybody sees the positives — the goals, the contracts, the glamour 👀

Episode 5 of The Kapusta Playbook — Tomas breaks down what life at the top actually looks like behind the scenes. The pressure, the injuries nobody knows about, the scrutiny that never stops and what happens to the 99% of players the world eventually forgets about.

The higher you go in hockey, the more the game becomes mental. It’s not just about performance anymore — it’s how you handle being critiqued, how you play through pain, how you keep competing when the weight of it all is on your shoulders. That’s what separates the ones who last from the ones who disappear. 🧠

Hockey is a vehicle. That’s the playbook. 🏒

The skill gets you noticed. Your character gets you somewhere. 🏒

Ondrej Vaculik has seen a lot of players come through. The ones that stick? They never quit on a drill. They ask questions. They treat practice like a game and take care of every detail like it matters — because it does.

Short-term discomfort. Long-term success. That’s the standard.

The Olympics weren’t just a tournament — they were a moment.

Before the nomination came, Tomas had to earn his way into the picture. A move to Europe. A scoring title in Finland. A bronze medal with the Czech national team. Step by step, the national coaches took notice.

But what stood out most wasn’t the competition — it was the experience. Living in the Olympic village. Sharing space with athletes from every corner of the world. Watching legends like Peter Šťastný suit up for their countries and remind everyone what the game meant at its highest level.

Episode 4 of The Kapusta Playbook is live. Tomas shares the road to the Olympics — and what it felt like to be there.

According to Ondrej, the benefits go way beyond hockey — players gain real-world experience, build independence, pick up a new language, and make friendships that last a lifetime.

That’s the kind of growth you can’t get at home. 🏒

Coach Tomas Kapusta has been building elite hockey at St. John Bosco — and if you don’t know about it yet, now you do.

Morning skates. College-prep academics. Elite S&C. Film study. A brotherhood that lasts long after the final whistle.

This isn’t just a team. It’s a launching pad. 🚀

Leaving the game is one thing. Figuring out what comes next is another.

Episode 3 of The Kapusta Playbook — Tomas talks about what the transition from player to coach actually felt like, what surprised him, and how the game looks completely different from the other side of the ice.

Ondrej Vaculik is still lacing up in Germany — while also building something for the next generation. 🇨🇿

What started as his own journey through the game turned into a passion for helping others navigate it. Learning how different leagues work, what opportunities exist, and how to make the most of them — that knowledge doesn’t just stay with him.

That’s why he started .hockey. For the players coming up who deserve someone in their corner.
