Educational entertainment for Pickleball lovers and the Pickleball-curious
Do you disagree? I really don't see how any guy below 5.0 can create an advantage by taking away an off the bounce d**k from their mixed partner. If you do disagree, I'd genuinely love to hear your argument.
If you're looking for a comprehensive warm up work out plan before your next pickleball game, I have created it here.
Yes I’m not professional personal trainer or physical therapist, but I am a 4.4 DUPR and I think that should stand for a lot.
First put one foot in front of the other but not super far out, not like a lunge. Then reach for your toes and then up to the sky and do a full arm circle backward. This is a good dynamic stretch and it’s called a scooper upper touch the sun.
Next up is 6 rounds of side to side squatties, where you squat down low and scoot your shoes left and right across the sideline of the court.
Then jump with a weighted rope for enough time for people to sort of clock what you’re up to and move away so you don’t hit them.
After that, get out your elastic band and get on the ground. You’ll want to lift your legs up and down and out and in and you do it low and slow like you’re smoking a full rack of ribs.
Next up, take out the arm bands with grips and wrap it around something so you can get arm tension in, whether you go out or up or down, either way you’re going to get tension, and you’ll want to do 5-50 of these, at each way. Try squatting while doing this too for extra credit and muscles.
Then do it with both arms on one side, and you’ll have mega tension on the band and you’ll work your core rotational energy pull which will give your obliques extra strength when you go to hit your drives.
Then do that kind of over your head to warm up the shoulders but wwauuugh! That can really get ya though.
Hope this helps!

I’m a sponsored athlete and I want the world to know
🚨 MAJOR SPONSORSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
Exactly 4 years ago I picked up a pickleball paddle with no previous racquet experience, and today, my dream came true:
I’m partnering with Selkirk as a sponsored athlete!!*
This video is a little behind the scenes peek into my call with Selkirk’s Director of Integrated Marketing Dakota so you can see how it all went down.
I am incredibly excited because they make the best paddles in the game, plus they have lots of exciting new stuff coming soon as well, which I will be telling you all about.
Thank you Selkirk for your support of this channel, we’re going to cook up a bunch of fun stuff together. You recognized the quality of my d**ks and volleys and made me a sponsored athlete* and I won’t let you down.
*I am not contractually allowed to call myself an athlete
As a coach myself, it was a real treat to be the student with Michael Fahey and get to work on aspects of my game that would help me get to the next level. I've been feeling really confident with my d**king and overall consistency—I think I can outgrind a lot of people—but I noticed that I would rarely attack off the bounce, and it seemed like I just wasn't much of an offensive threat. And I really wanted to change that! Some things we worked on:
- snappier forehand volleys, especially on the move
- twoey backhand counter
- topspin backhand d**ks
- deceptive inside out cross court forehand d**ks
- twoey backhand speed-ups off the bounce
- hands in general, and working on a backhand chicken wing on the forehand side
Thank you Mike for an incredible lesson! You’re a great coach.
If you want to up your DUPR, now's the best time because everyone is inflated post-DUPR reset! No one actually got better! So if I were you, I'd sign up for tournaments and leagues immediately.
Imagine the serving team at the bottom of a hill and the returning team at the top of the hill. They are battling for control of the top of the hill. If the returning team makes it to the top, they use d**ks and speed ups to push the other team off and reign supreme (win the point).
This is literally what I imagine at the start of every pickleball point. Maybe this will help and/or scare you?
Have you ever noticed that you play better against better players and worse against worse ones? Why does that happen? Sure, partly it's because worse players make unpredictable and chaotic choices, BUT I also think part of it has to do with your mindset going in. I say more about this in the video, so please watch it. This is just the caption. Do you read these captions? If you do, please comment "knock knock" on this video.
