Here are some examples of simple meals I keep in my meal prep rotation so I can save money and eat healthier

1. I make my dog meat and rice every week and I use the rice to make my dish (since I'm already cooking it. Here I added sauteed bell pepper, onion, garlic and pineapple teriyaki chicken meatballs I buy in bulk at Costco.
2. Those same pineapple teriyaki chicken meatballs with sauteed zucchini
3. Salad! I like to buy spring mix and I try to eat one bowl everyday with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dressing. I will usually eat my bowl of salad greens while dinner is cooking.
4. Ham and cheese rolled up in a gluten free puff pastry and baked for 20 minutes
5. Beer battered fish 🐟 (it's actually very easy and quick)
6. Meatloaf
7. Egg roll in a bowl. I usually buy cole slaw mix but the store was out so I grabbed this kimchi salad, sauteed it with an egg, added ginger and garlic and mixed with the rice and meat I make for my doggo
8. I keep Kevin's on hand, always! The flavors are amazing, they're available at every grocery store but Costco has the best price, and they take five minutes to prepare.

All these meals are easy and quick prep and less than 30 minutes cook time. Having easy, flavorful meals on hand helps me save money because I'm not eating out and ensures I'm eating more nutrient dense foods so my body has everything it needs to get through the day.

Exciting weekend in Breck! I saw my first moose in Breck (and second moose ever)! Rode Peak 6 for the first time (yikes it's steeper than I'm used to but so gorgeous 😍) got new bibs, hit some easy bumps without falling πŸ€™πŸ˜Š

December and January have been crazy busy and super fun!

I started working as a snowboard instructor at Breckenridge, spent Christmas in the mountains, my family came to visit, Phoebe loves all the fresh snow, Grandma took her first and last gondola ride 🀣 I got to bring my besties to Breck for a couple days and Persie learned to play card games, not pictured is my car getting towed because a coolant hose burst but it's fixed now.

It's a little bit of work driving back and forth every week but I love it! I love teaching and I love mountain life. Plus my riding has improved so much ❀️

Seriously, hear me out on this first pic. Keep reading!!

1. Sour cream raisin pie πŸ₯§ I wasn't sure about this one, the name alone made me go WTF? But I made it because it's one of my Grandpa's favorites. Y'ALL IT WAS DELICIOUS πŸ˜‹ I surprised myself with this it doesn't taste like sour cream or raisins even though those are two of the ingredients. The name is deceptive lol
2. I really surprised myself with this meal. I happened to have zucchini and bell peppers and a steak so I googled a recipe for sauteed zucchini and bell peppers and the first recipe to pop up had a lemon flavor, which I thought would pair perfectly with my garlic lemon marinade for the steak and voila 😘 delicious meal!
3. And 4. My pot pie looked like it had an angry face LMAO 🀣
5. I saw a random tiktok where a lady made matcha green tea cookies with white chocolate chips and I had to try it. The color didn't turn out great but the flavor was exactly what I was craving! I will be making these again.

Everything I make is gluten free 😁

One of the most detrimental beliefs/habits/internal dialogue (whatever you want to call it) to have is "I'll do it later".

It's so easy to give into the thought of "I'll do it later" but what starts to happen is a new habit forms. Then you start putting off more things, bigger things, and convincing yourself that "I'll do it when I feel more energized/motivated" Then it becomes so easy to convince yourself that you have all these obstacles and once you get past them you'll start doing (insert goal here).

But the truth is that path leads nowhere. You never find the time, energy, motivation, etc. you don't start working on your goals.

Anytime you're tempted to give in to that thought "I'll do it later" stop, and redirect it. Just do it now, it won't take long, I have enough energy for this, I can start doing this, if I do this now I'll have more time tomorrow for something else.

Apply this to everything, every little habit! Tempted to not load the dishwasher? Just do it now. Waiting to start that workout routine? You have 20 minutes right now do one of the exercises or take a walk. You forgot your morning collagen? Doesn't matter if it's late take it now. Just build the habit.

Our habits are cumulative. Start playing the long game and accumulating actions/habits that lead to bigger payoffs.

What is something you started and it paid off big?! What is something you want to start? Let me know in the comments πŸ€—

Huge shoutout to my client for crushing their fitness goals! πŸ’ͺ🏼 They set a target of benching 280lbs for 3-4 reps and not only achieved that but SMASHED it with a personal best of 305lbs! This is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and unwavering determination. So proud of this incredible transformation! Let’s keep pushing boundaries and most importantly TRUST THE PROCESS!

Also, a motivational pibble is an investment you won't regret πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

It's been a long while since I posted about a client and it's about time I start doing that again. I think it's important to celebrate the wins and I'm trying to do that more for everyone, including myself.

I'm super stoked for this person because for the past 6 to 8 weeks they've beat their PB on two lifts every week and they're almost to their goal πŸ₯³ whoo hoo! I also had to finally buy more plates so we could get enough weight on the bar 🀣

I have no doubt they'll actually surpass their goal next year.

I try to keep doggos out of the gym to avoid too much dog fur in there buuuut can't resist sometimes πŸ₯°

My Pain-Free Journey

I was 16 years old when I injured my back during dance rehearsal. I had severe back spasms for the next four years, I never knew when they were going to hit and put me out of commission. I had accepted that I needed a back brace for work (stocking and shipment for retail) and that I needed to wear one to dance class and auditions. I was getting massages, chiropractic care, and acupuncture and they provided much-needed relief but the back issues would always pop back up. I moved back home after graduating from Iowa and started seeing a new chiropractor. After a couple months he told me that we needed to do something different because I shouldn’t be getting adjustments every week. I was dancing, working out almost every day, teaching group fitness classes, I was super active and strong! He introduced me to functional movement and prescribed me corrective exercises to strengthen my core. Little by little my back started to feel better and I after a few months I stopped wearing the brace!

Shortly after that I moved to Colorado and started hiking and rock climbing, I kept up with my corrective exercises but then I started getting knee pain. I kept up with my regular routine of massage, chiro, acupuncture. I would get temporary relief but eventually, it would come back. Then I started getting hip pain, foot pain, and back pain again! It got so bad that I couldn’t hike 4 miles without having severe pain by the end and I thought I might have to give up the outdoor sports that I loved. I thought maybe my body is just broken or maybe I just β€œdon’t have the right body” for outdoor sports. I was incredibly discouraged, I had tried more strength training, more single-leg exercises, more core, more cardio, I tried hiking more to condition myself only to have the pain continue to get worse! I tried 3 more chiropractors (including a sports performance specialists) and none of them helped me. It was a waste of time and money.

Right about this time I decided that I wanted to make a bigger impact for women in fitness by getting certified for pre/postnatal fitness. I was introduced to a chiropractor that specializes in pre/postnatal care and practiced and taught a form of rehabilitative exercise called DNS. I had never heard of DNS but was impressed by the research and evidence behind it and I decided to try it for myself and WOW! I started seeing progress so fast it felt surreal. I still needed a little more help so I started doing rehab sessions that included DNS and FRC with my chiropractic adjustments and just 3 months later I went from barely being able to hike 4 miles to doing a 3-day 18-mile backpacking trip mostly above treeline with no pain!!! I was floored, amazed, in awe, and angry.

I was angry I had spent so much money on these professionals that didn’t help me with my problem, all I ever got was temporary relief. The reason why none of it worked, and why I continually got worse was because my movement patterns were dysfunctional and the exercises I was prescribed were not the right ones to correct the dysfunction. Everyone gave me cookie cutter treatment, knee pain it must be IT band so do more foam rolling and squats. The problem with that is the body is dynamic, and dysfunction in one area is not isolated to that area and often times dysfunction is neurological. If you aren’t addressing the entire myofascial line where the dysfunction is happening, the joints above and below the dysfunction, or the nervous system the dysfunction will not go away.
