Bittersweet last night! We had our final belt test presentation and celebration. Our final day was last night as we have to close our doors and I want to thank all our family members who supported the Dojo of Karate. We have watched students grow not only in skill but with more self-confidence, respect, and spirit. Shout out to Sensei Madeline Pettersson as she was an outstanding Sensei/head instructor. I will miss her spirit, jokes, lively personality and seeing her every day and having our chats about the future of the Dojo. Thank you everyone you will always be in our hearts 💕 Huge thanks also to Stanton Tam and Sensei David for all their help teaching and great karate resources for me.

We are a small karate family! Our classes are small, so it is easy for us to social distance. Want to give your child and/or yourself a safe place to train in karate, meet new friends, gain confidence, and have fun in a fitness activity? Our students are 7 to 8 feet away from each other and our Sensei. We have classes for ages 3 to adults as well as a family class. Give it a try for a month with our intro special of $49 for a month of classes and a free uniform (gi).

Sensei Madeline and I did a little spoof on karate social distancing for our students as we begin our online zoom classes tonight! First are the bloopers then the final take showing social distancing at its finest karate style including sparring and bo staff. We had many takes, and a lot of laughter and giggles! Breathing hard too with all the clothes head to toe when doing the final takes 😊

We gave our students a fun challenge for them to do with their families. The challenge was to see how many front kicks they could do without putting their foot down. The student who ends up doing the most kicks will earn a special stripe for their belt. Love the smiles and laughter!
