SOUTHEAST POP WARNER — IMPORTANT PRACTICE UPDATE!

Labor Day has passed, which means it’s time to adjust those practice schedules!

Effective now, Pop Warner teams are limited to:

MAXIMUM 6 HOURS OF PRACTICE PER WEEK
NOT TO EXCEED 2 HOURS PER DAY

CHEER & DANCE: Teams preparing two (2) competition routines may have an additional 2 hours of practice per week.

As we move deeper into the season, remember that our athletes are balancing more than sports. School, family, rest, recovery, and simply being a kid matter too.

Same dedication. Same commitment. Fewer hours.

From those who keep our neighborhoods, parks and public spaces looking their best, to the educators, first responders, local businesses, City employees and many others who serve our community, each plays a part in making Weston a great place to live, work and play.

This Labor Day, we celebrate you. Thank you for all you do for Weston! 💙

Today, we celebrate the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the incredible people who make our Pop Warner communities so special.

Across the Southeast Region, thousands of coaches, volunteers, association leaders, team staff, parents, and families give their time, energy, and hearts to create opportunities for our young athletes and cheerleaders. Many work full days and still find a way to show up at the field, the gym, the concession stand, the board meeting, or wherever they are needed.

That is what COMMUNITY looks like.

Your hard work gives our children more than a season. You are helping teach them teamwork, perseverance, responsibility, sportsmanship, confidence, and leadership — lessons they will carry far beyond the football field and cheer mat.

On this Labor Day, we simply want to say:

THANK YOU for showing up.
THANK YOU for giving your time.
THANK YOU for believing in our kids.
THANK YOU for making Pop Warner possible.

OUR SIDELINES ARE NOT OPEN ACCESS.

Keeping our sidelines controlled is about much more than keeping an area organized — it is about the SAFETY of our children.

Only athletes and properly rostered team staff are permitted on the sidelines during games.

Why is this so important?

When someone is listed on an official roster, we know they have completed the required background screening, training and certifications necessary to be around our athletes.

That means:

Parents belong in the stands.
Friends and family belong in the stands.
Extra volunteers do not belong on the sidelines.
Rostered athletes and approved team staff belong on the sidelines.

Please do not put your Head Coach, association or game officials in the position of having to ask someone to leave.

A controlled sideline creates a safer environment, reduces distractions, allows coaches to coach, and ensures we know exactly WHO has access to our children.

This is not about excluding anyone.

IT IS ABOUT PROTECTING EVERYONE.
We are asking every association, coach, parent and volunteer to help us enforce this consistently at EVERY field and EVERY game.

If you are not rostered to that team, please support your athletes proudly from the stands.

FRIENDLY GAME DAY REMINDER — HELMET VISORS

As we head into another weekend of football, we want to share an important equipment reminder with all of our coaches, parents and athletes.

Per Pop Warner football equipment rules, helmet visors must be 100% CLEAR.

❌ Tinted visors
❌ Smoked visors
❌ Colored visors
❌ Lightly tinted visors

✅ 100% CLEAR VISORS ONLY

If a visor is not completely clear, it will need to be removed before the athlete can participate.

We encourage our coaches and parents to take a quick look at their athletes' equipment before game day so everyone arrives ready to play!

Our goal is never to make things difficult or catch someone doing something wrong. These equipment requirements are there for a reason — the safety of our athletes.
