A message from BAGA & Priscilla
In this season of giving,
BAGA and I wanted to take a moment to let you know how grateful we are for each and every one of you.
Your support means the world to us and we are grateful not only this season,
but every day, for the opportunity to serve our community.
What a learning year 2020 has been.
We have faced a widespread pandemic, social conflict, economic uncertainty, school closures and more.
Even With such a year,
you have continued to place your trust in us at American Top Team to serve you safely.
We are grateful for your trust. As we enjoy the Holiday season,
please allow me to share our wholehearted appreciativeness for these opportunities to serve you.
The word “arts” in martial arts points to skill,
expression of beauty or creativity.
The combination “martial arts” translates to ending conflict skillfully.
Peace is the ultimate goal of the martial arts.
Along with boosting our communities Confidence, Self Esteem, and Health;
Bringing Peace to our community has always been most important to us and we realize the significance of it now more than ever.
We hope that you have a safe and happy holiday spent with your loved ones
(even if that means connecting virtually instead of face-to-face)!
With gratitude,
BAGA & Priscilla and the ATT TEAM

It's safe to say administrators and teachers aren't the only ones feeling overwhelmed amid school closures 😫
Parents are also bearing the brunt. 😔
With the uptick in schools relying on E-Learning to keep instruction going while brick-and-mortar education is paused, many parents are having to take on a variety of new roles, from playing IT help desk to becoming makeshift teaching assistants.
For some, life at home might be more complicated than ever: parents could be juggling a brand new work-from-home scenario, or trying to manage sick family members. It all heightens the need for administrators and teachers to provide steady communication for parents during what amounts to a nationwide e-learning experiment.
And this much is clear: parents have a growing list of questions for teachers and administrators about what role to play during extended closures.
So we've put together some tips that educators can give parents:🤩
🔹Start slow: Parents can identify subjects or areas their children are interested in and explore from there.
🔹Set a schedule: A remote educational environment will require students of all ages to take much more ownership of their learning.
🔹Set up a workspace: Parents can help normalize the experience for a student by providing a consistent place at home to work, whether it be for reading or video conferencing a lesson.
🔹Stay upbeat and positive: Students are impressionable, and if a parent gets frustrated that's likely to rub off. Parents should maintain an open mind and a lot of patience.
🔹Resist the urge to do too much: An important thing for parents to understand: it's OK if your child struggles at some point. It's equally important to let them try to work through an issue on their own.
🔹Communicate with teachers: School officials have a message for parents during these times: over communicate, if necessary.
Plan for 'brain breaks': Too much screen time or staying buried in a book too long without a break for physical exertion can be a bad recipe
🔹Group support: Parents can also reach out to other parents. One of the best ways to do that is through other groups.

The many benefits of arts and crafts for kids: {kids need more than ever now}
🔵 Fine motor skills. Enhancing children's hand eye co-ordination and building levels of manual dexterity.
🔵 It makes them more creative and productive.
🔵 Craft encourages children to play and experiment in a fun and relaxed environment.
🔵 It inspires them to think critically.
🔵 It helps them socialize.
(Something to think about as parents especially during these unprecedented times)
