Hauss Powwa baseball and Hockey Team

🏒⚾ THAT’S A WRAP — UNTIL NEXT YEAR!

Both seasons of hockey and baseball had their ups and downs, and that’s exactly what youth sports are about.

Between the two teams, we played in 8 tournaments — 4 hockey tournaments and 4 baseball tournaments.

The hockey team didn’t bring home a tournament championship this year, while the baseball team went 3-for-4, winning 3 tournament championships. Two completely different results — but the goal for both teams was always the same:

LEARN. DEVELOP. COMPETE. GET BETTER.

Of course we love to win. Anyone who knows us knows we’re competitive and want to win every time we step on the ice or the field. But youth sports can’t only be about wins and losses.

It’s about learning the game.

It’s about learning how to be a teammate. Learning how to compete. Learning how to handle pressure. Learning how to win the right way — and maybe most importantly, learning how to fail.

Because failure is where some of the biggest lessons come from.

You strike out. You give up a goal. You make an error. You lose a game you thought you should have won.

What do you do next?

You learn from it.
You work harder.
You come back better.

🏒 HOCKEY

The hockey side was led by:

These guys took control of the hockey side and put their time and effort into helping these kids learn and develop.

We didn’t win a tournament, but that doesn’t mean the season wasn’t successful. The kids competed, battled through adversity and hopefully walked away better hockey players and better teammates than when they started.

Sometimes the season where you don’t bring home the trophy teaches you more than the season where everything goes your way.

⚾ BASEBALL

The baseball side was led by:

What a summer it was.

Four tournaments. Three championships.

There were great games, tough games, big hits, great pitching, mistakes, pressure situations and plenty of memories.

I’m proud of what these kids accomplished, but I’m even more proud of the growth we saw along the way. Hopefully they learned something about baseball, competing, being a teammate and dealing with failure.

Because trophies eventually collect dust.

The lessons, friendships and memories are what stick with you.

To every player, parent, coach and family member who gave their time and supported these kids — THANK YOU.

Eight tournaments between hockey and baseball. A lot of practices. A lot of games. A lot of miles. A lot of laughs. And a lot of memories.

Some wins. Some losses. Some championships. Some disappointments.

But a whole lot of learning and growing.
