For the first time in 52 years, the Healy Cup is back in the Frey Family! Congrats to Brad Frey who held tough against surging defending champ Jake Kelley down the stretch in yesterday’s bright and blustery Healy Cup Final.
Jake, riding an 11 match win streak dating back to May of ‘22, promptly won the first hole on a balky three-putt by Brad. Unfortunately for Jake, Brad wouldn’t blink again until the 17th hole, up two and looking to close out the match. Like the champ he is, Jake won 17&18 and to 19 we went!
Perhaps buoyed by glimpsing his uncle Sanford “Sandy” Frey’s name etched on the trophy from his ‘71 win, Brad steadied his nerves and cemented his first ever Healy title with a knee-knocker par-save on the 19th.
Congrats Brad and Jake! LMGA sportsmanship at its finest! Mr. Healy would be proud of you both.

Despite zero 🧢 confrontations or parking lot skirmishes, the the 5th iteration of the LMGA’s Minuteman Cup was a hotly contested affair. Congrats to Team Davies (Red) whose stellar Sunday Singles Session tipped the tides over Team Janik (Blue), 14.5 to 9.5. Shout out JB’s Pizza and Deli!!
