Butia Baseball Academy is entering year four and quickly becoming one of the fastest-rising programs in the area. After three years of building a culture of strong development, the momentum is real—and we’re just getting started. We continue to invest in technology, coaches, and new programs to enhance player development, with facility enhancements also in the works.

A Full-Circle Moment for Butia Baseball

We are beyond excited to officially welcome Todd Simon to the Butia Baseball family! Todd’s coaching resume is as deep as they come, featuring over 10 years as a private instructor and coach at Bianco School of Baseball.

But for us, this is personal. Todd has been a cornerstone of our owner, Mike Butia’s, baseball journey since the beginning. He served as Mike’s private hitting instructor from the age of 8 all the way through his collegiate and professional career.

Now, the mentor joins the team to help mold the next generation of athletes alongside his former student.

Exciting news! We’re proud to announce that Jack Anderson is joining our team as a new instructor.

Jack is a familiar face in the Pittsburgh baseball community, having graduated from Mars High School and played two years for the Pitt Panthers. He’s bringing his extensive knowledge and experience to our academy, which includes his current role as Director of Baseball Operations at the University of Pittsburgh.

As a player, Jack was known for his approach at the plate, hitting .288 and ranking 15th all-time in Pitt history for walks. He’s not only a great player, but a great teacher of the game.

We’re excited to announce the launch of our Developmental Program for 8U, 9U, and 10U players! ⚾️🔥

This program is built to help young athletes strengthen their fundamentals, build their baseball IQ, and most importantly — develop a love for the game in a competitive but fun environment. 💪❤️

🧠 What makes our program different?
We combine structured instruction with modern tools like HitTrax to deliver data-driven feedback and a gamified training experience young players love!

📍 Program Details:
✅ Runs from Mid-January to Mid-March
✅ 2 practice sessions per week
• Weekday session (Monday or Thursday) at our Wexford facility
• Sunday session at The Bubble @ No Offseason (Russellton)
✅ Position-specific drills for hitting, pitching, fielding & baserunning
✅ In-house scrimmages to apply skills in live game settings
✅ 2 extra hours of open cage time per week
✅ Led by experienced coaches – I’ll personally be leading ALL sessions!
