**Is opening your sports closet a full-contact sport?**
You know the one... you crack the door open and suddenly cleats, shin guards, helmets, gloves, bats, and jerseys come tumbling out.
Good news—we can help with that!
**Weymouth Kids Day is this Saturday, August 8, from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM!** This year, Weymouth Youth Soccer is expanding our annual gear swap and inviting the whole community to participate.
Have sports equipment your kids have outgrown that's still in good condition? Help another family get into the game!
**Drop off your gear this week at:**
**Weymouth Parks & Recreation Office**
87 Wharf Street
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
**Weymouth Heights Club**
598 North Street
Leave donations in the collection box at the front door.
**Playing summer soccer?**
Leave your equipment at the end of your session this week as the season wraps up!
**Or simply bring your equipment with you to Weymouth Kids Day!**
**Saturday, August 8**
**11:00 AM–3:00 PM**
Whether you're donating, looking for gear, or both:
**Drop it. Swap it. Take what you need.**
**Any sport. Any gear. Any equipment.** We'll help make sure it finds a good home with another local family. Together, we can save money, reduce waste, and help more kids get out and play.
See you at Weymouth Kids Day!

The WYS Snack Stand is open today under the pavilion!
One thing many people may not know is that throughout the season, WYS makes the snack stand available to local schools, nonprofit organizations, and community groups as a fundraising opportunity. We believe youth sports are strongest when they’re connected to the communities they serve, and we’re proud to support the organizations that support our families.
From schools and parent councils to community initiatives and local causes, these partnerships help strengthen the fabric of Weymouth. We are all working toward the same goal: creating opportunities for kids to learn, grow, and thrive.
It takes a village to raise a child. We believe it takes a village to build a strong community, too.
So if you’re at the fields today, stop by and support the snack stand. Grab a snack, a drink, some candy, or a Murray magnet while you’re there.
And before you leave, consider adopting a duck for our First Annual Daisy Duck Drop on June 12. Every duck adopted helps support financial assistance and hardship requests for local families, and every duck has a chance to win prizes — including our $500 Grand Prize.
We’re also getting awfully close to 500 ducks adopted, which means I’m getting awfully close to the dunk tank.

🚨 UPDATE FROM THE DUNK TANK DANGER BOARD 🚨
262 ducks adopted.
Avery’s fate has officially been sealed.
When we launched the Daisy Duck Drop on Friday morning, we set our first milestone at 250 ducks.
Less than 72 hours later, Weymouth blew right past it.
💦 Avery Sousa: ACTIVATED
Current Standings:
✅ Avery Sousa (250 Ducks)
🎯 Alison White (500 Ducks)
🎯 John Olohan (750 Ducks)
🎯 Steve Reilley (1,000 Ducks)
The ducks aren’t slowing down.
The real question now is:
Can Weymouth reach 500 ducks and put Alison on the hot seat before June 12?
Every duck adopted supports local kids, families, schools, youth sports, and community organizations.
And apparently, every duck adopted also increases the likelihood that local volunteers end up unexpectedly wet.
🦆 Current Count: 262
🎯 Next Target: 500
💦 Victims Activated: 1

🚨 FINAL SCORE 🚨
🌧️ Weather: 1
⚽ WYS: 0
Today’s games have been cancelled due to weather and field conditions.
📸 BUT…
Picture Day is still happening!
The photographers don’t take rain checks, so team and individual photos will still take place as scheduled in the Pingree School Gymnasium. Please use the Pingree entrance and come get those smiles captured for the season.
And if you’re feeling disappointed about the cancellation, frustrated with the weather, or looking for a productive outlet for your soccer-related emotions…
May we suggest the Daisy Duck Drop?
🦆 Duck adoptions are open now for just $5.
Every duck supports local Weymouth organizations, including Weymouth Youth Soccer, and helps move us closer to unlocking our Dunk Tank Danger Board:
🦆 250 Ducks → Avery Sousa (Past Director)
🦆 500 Ducks → Alison White (Current Director)
🦆 750 Ducks → John Olohan (Past President)
🦆 1,000 Ducks → Steve Reilley (Past President & Weymouth Parks & Recreation Director)
Let’s be honest: today’s weather probably didn’t help my odds.

See you at Pingree today and at the Jamboree on June 12!

🦆⚽ The ducks are on the move… and the dunk tank is getting nervous!
June 12: spcdaisyducks from Seach Parent Council and Weymouth Youth Soccer are joining forces for an unforgettable evening packed with soccer, family fun, great food, awesome prizes, and the one-and-only Daisy Duck Drop.
The best part? Every nonprofit participating benefits from this event, so every duck you adopt helps make a splash across our entire community.
Every duck adoption supports local children, families, and community organizations—so your duck is doing some serious good while having a little fun.
🚨 DUNK TANK DANGER BOARD 🚨
The more ducks adopted, the more brave volunteers are headed for a splashy fate. Each milestone unlocks a new dunk tank target!
🦆 250 Ducks → Avery
🦆 500 Ducks → Alison
🦆 750 Ducks → John Olohan
🦆 1,000 Ducks → Steve Reilley
Will we reach all 1,000 ducks and send everyone into the tank? There’s only one way to find out!
