Today I had the absolute honor of awarding Mars Brassell his 10th Planet Black Belt. Mars is a true martial artist who’s enthusiasm for Jiu Jitsu spreads like contagion on a cruise ship. He is constantly innovating and growing his game. He is a master of the rubber guard and an experienced coach who takes just as much joy in the growth of his students as he does in his own development. He is hungry, humble, and dangerous. I am grateful to call him a brother and excited to continue to walk this path towards mastery together. Congratulations on the promotion my friend, you earned it.

Today I had the pleasure of leveling up Jerry Gonzales. He has been steady putting in work in our morning classes and it’s paid off. He is hard to pin, harder to submit and flows beautifully from submission to submission. The sky is the limit! Keep going!
