YBA Bowlers,
Bowlero Wheat Ridge is restructuring its youth league for the 2022-23 season to The Bowler Depot Juniors to begin on Sept. 24 at the same noon start time. They are hosting a scholarship adult-youth tournament this Sunday, August 28, at noon at Bowlero Wheat Ridge to help introduce the bowling community to The Bowler Depot Juniors.
Those of you that have your equipment needs met in The Bowler Depot pro shop at Bowlero Wheat Ridge (or one of their other locations in the Denver area or via their bowling supplies website) most likely know that this is a well known national brand and sponsor the likes of Brad Miller and Kyle Sherman on the PBA Tour (Brad has even spent time with our youth bowlers in the past when coming out our way). The new leadership and coaching resources should well serve the youth league going forward.
Some of you may have attended The Bowler Depot Juniors summer league for a taste of what is to come. Please contact Angela Wolfe, the League Supervisor, with any questions you may have. They have a new page as well. Just search for The Bowler Depot Juniors and it should come up for you.
The Stroke and Roll Youth Bowling Academy will be taking a break for the 2022-23 season. We will post here as soon as we know of future endeavors for the YBA. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the YBA. We hope that we helped to foster new friendships, a greater love for the game, and improved talent and sportsmanship on the lanes.

It’s how I taught myself to bowl 37 years ago.
It’s how I will throw my last shot when my career is over.
Was told I should change. Was told it was illegal. Was told it won’t work.
But for every critic, there are now 1000 fans and those adopting what I do.
Nothing makes me happier than knowing there are people out there bowling that may have quit if not for bowling the same way I do!
Bowling is about knocking down pins… not how you knock them over.
There is no right way to bowl, but there is a right way for you!
Do you!

And a welcomed change in the rules where a youth may bowl only once to count for singles & doubles (just pay fees for both) and the adult may bowl only once to count for multiple youth partners. Low cost fun bowling for the final event of the 2021-22 season! Lots of scholarship. Make a day (or weekend) of it!

Good news for youth league bowlers.

The Junior Gold Championships in Michigan have concluded. Congratulations to our Colorado bowlers that made the advancer rounds (no match play bowlers this year). They included Jaxson Garton, who made the second advancer round in U15 Boys, and Kade Vanbeber, Dmitri Richardson, Ty Morse, and Lucas Finley, who made the first advancer round in U18 Boys. The first advancer round is typically the top 14% of the field, which is then trimmed further for the second advancer round after five more games. Top 16 after the second advancers round in U15 and U18 then go on to the match play finals.
All the results can be found on the page below:

Final Youth State and Pepsi Regionals/State results and scholarship prize funds are on the Colorado State USBC home page below. Both events gave away an incredible amount of scholarship this year. Awards of over $1,000 were given to 25 bowlers in the Pepsi tournament alone. Youth State awarded nearly $30,000 in total scholarship.
Don't know if it will be the same next year, but now is a good time to participate in youth scholarship bowling events as the use it or lose it requirement from USBC for "unassigned" older scholarship funds continues into 2024.
