Christian Community Schools would like to welcome Mike Richardson back home as our new 5th–6th grade boys basketball coach. Mike was the original high school girls basketball coach when CCS launched its athletic program in the 2000s.
Mike is a graduate of Portland High School and played college basketball at Volunteer State in 1983 and 1984. He and his wife, Debbie, have three children and five grandchildren. Mike is an avid deer hunter, golfer, and die-hard Tennessee fan.
The Richardson family attended Grace Park for 20 years, and Mike built the Pavilion during their time here. They currently attend Long Hollow Church, where they have been members for the past 18 years.
CCS Athletic Director Jeff Porter said, “We hit a home run by getting Mike back involved in our athletic program.”
Porter added, “I have known this family for over four decades. Mike will bring the energy needed to develop our young men on the court and, more importantly, off the court as they represent the CCS mission. He will TRAIN-UP our young men.”
