Hurricane Penguins Swim Club Our team is a non-profit, parent-run organization governed by United States Swimming, Inc., and Michigan Swimming.

We are led by a volunteer Board of Directors, and we operate according to the Bylaws published on our website. Our team is a year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor.

It is with deep sadness that we share with our Hurricane Penguin community the heartbreaking news of the passing of one of our beloved coaches, Zin Ghazouani, who was tragically taken from us in a motor vehicle accident.

Zin was well known and loved throughout the local swimming community. His journey with the Penguins began as an accomplished age-group swimmer, and it was a true honor when, after graduation, he chose to return to the club as a coach.

Zin was a gift to our team. He brought kindness, warmth, and genuine love to the kids he coached, making a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His presence touched teammates, swimmers, coaches, and parents alike, and the impact he made on our Penguin family was profound.

He will be deeply missed, and his memory will remain a part of our team and the many lives he touched.

Our hearts and deepest condolences are with the Ghazouani family and with all who knew and loved Coach Zin as they navigate this unimaginable loss.

Hurricane Penguin swimmers Nora Gorski and Corinne Mayer had great open water swims in the Swim To the Moon race this morning. Nora swam the .5 mile and placed 1st. And Corrine swam the 5k and placed 2nd. Great swims ladies!🏊🏼‍♀️🏊🏼‍♀️
