With fall slowly coming to an end (unfortunately 😭) and christmas decorations coming out, please dont throw away your pumpkins or straw bales! We will take all DRY straw bales for insulation for our pigs and goats as well as any uncarved pumpkins ☺️🌾🌾🎃

Update 3 on Fiora🌸

For those wondering how Fiora, our chunky little feral pony, is doing… well, she’s thriving. Unfortunately, so is her attitude.

Fiora continues to stomp on toes like she’s collecting a debt, eat hay like she’s personally responsible for keeping the entire hay industry in business, and look at us like WE’RE the problem.

Her current hobbies include:
🦶Toe crushing — apparently eye meds = devil in disguise
🌾 Hay demolition — bales disappear faster than our hopes of saving money.
😈 General feral behavior — because being cute clearly isn’t enough; she must also be a liability.
🖤 Looking absolutely innocent — despite a rap sheet longer than her legs.

At this point, we’re pretty sure she’s not a pony. She’s a hay-powered wrecking ball with a cute face and absolutely zero remorse.

We love her. We really do. But if anyone knows where to file a workers’ compensation claim for pony-related foot injuries, please send us the paperwork. 😂

Fiora: 1. Our toes, our hay budget, and our sanity: 0.

Stay tuned for more updates from the tiny menace who costs a fortune to feed and apparently accepts payment exclusively in human suffering.

We are all set up for our 1st of 3 events today! So many happy, smiling kiddies and sooooo many cute costumes!!! And the animals are loving all the attention and treats!! 🩷

Update on rescue #2: indy

Indy came to us as a shutdown mare that was used strictly for her uterus. She was very early in pregnancy and had lost it shortly after arriving here (most likely it wasnt viable from the start and thats why she was dumped).

We gave her time to grieve, we gave her time to relax and make friends. Now we are slowly introducing her to what it feels like to be loved on and more importantly: tasks to focus on and succeed with. She still needs her feet to be rehabbed…we scheduled for her to get shoes next week to help with the collapsed heels. But for now shes scootin around in some cushioned cavallo boots and being given small jobs to boost her confidence.

The only way to go is up, pretty girl! We cannot wait to see all that you accomplish ❤️

🚨Its hay time! We have a load coming sunday and would love to add to it if we can! Winter is coming and that causes drastic amounts of stress to our plates. We are hoping to keep stocking up on bales so when winter does hit, we have emergency bales to lean on.

As always, we are so incredibly grateful for all the support and love you guys show us. We cannot do what we do without you.

Victoria’s intermediate level lesson group had a Halloween costume party and it was so fun and cute to see all the horses dressed up with their riders 🎃👻🎃

✨ Update on Cadence, 1 of the 3 horses we rescued in August from the kill pen. ✨

The picture on the right is upon his arrival to the ranch where he weighed in at 1,030lbs. The picture on the left is from yesterday where he weighed in at 1,183lbs! 🙌

Doing a slow refeeding program feels like it takes forever to start seeing results, but it’s extremely important to not overload their digestive system with feeding too much too fast. So we have to start with small amounts and gradually increase that amount over time, especially with horses who have been starved and are malnourished! As you can see from his photos, he is doing great with his weight gain! 🩷

He’s a super sweet boy unless it involves food. We discovered the hard way that he has some food aggression issues, but we will continue to work with him and help him overcome those issues before we start looking for his forever home!

We’re thankful for the extra warmer weather we’ve been having as we would like for him to gain as much weight as possible before winter hits!
