π¨ IMPORTANT RACE DAY SAFETY RULES FOR TOMORROW! π¨
We LOVE our newbies! π€ If this is your first triathlon, donβt stress β weβll also cover important rules and answer questions during our **Packet Pickup briefings**. But here are a few BIG ones everyone needs to know before race morning:
π SWIM
β’ No foot coverings during the swim.
β’ Tri suits/kits cannot extend past the elbows or knees.
π² BIKE + TRANSITION
β’ Your helmet must be strapped BEFORE you take possession of your bike and stay strapped until your bike is properly racked again. Easy rule to remember: bike in your hands = helmet buckled!
β’ NO DRAFTING. Your draft zone is roughly the length of a SCHOOL BUS! π Leave plenty of space between you and the cyclist ahead.
β’ Proper shoes must be worn while cycling.
β’ No assisted/electric bikes and no mirrors.
β’ Transition space is SMALL. Please do not bring totes, buckets or large bags into transition. If you donβt have someone to hold your belongings, place them along the designated fence area.
π΅ NO PHONE USAGE
Phones cannot be used while racing. If you want your phone after you finish, you may carry it with you on the run β just donβt use it during the race.
π« NO OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE
Friends and family can CHEER as loudly as they want, but athletes cannot receive outside assistance while racing.
π AFTER YOU FINISH
There will be NO re-entry into transition until ALL athletes have completed T2. Please plan accordingly and make sure anything you need immediately after finishing is with you.
We may open a controlled transition pickup area after awards, allowing a limited number of athletes in at a time. Please follow instructions from race officials and volunteers.
Most importantly: listen to race officials, be courteous to other athletes and HAVE FUN! πΊπΈπΉ
