Last week’s removal of the Whiting Pipeline Patriots from the Crestwood Collegiate Baseball League has raised serious questions about how key baseball decisions are being made in the City of Whiting and what those choices mean for players, families, and our local community. For more than a decade, the Northwest Indiana Oilmen delivered stable, championship-caliber summer collegiate baseball, youth development opportunities, and meaningful economic impact at Oil City Stadium, making Whiting a true destination for the game.

Considering the Crestwood Collegiate Baseball league’s action citing financial mismanagement and operational improprieties by the Patriots organization, it is important to take an honest, fact-based look at what was lost when a proven, community-focused tenant was replaced by a club that could not complete its first season. The Oilmen remain committed to Northwest Indiana and to working with municipal and regional partners who value transparent governance, responsible city management, and baseball organizations that consistently deliver for fans, student-athletes, and local businesses.

Oilmen Kids Camp – Cancellation for Today (June 9)

Dear Parents,
Due to the heavy rain overnight and saturated field conditions at Lakeshore Cal Ripken, we unfortunately have to cancel today’s Oilmen Kids Camp session. The safety of all participants is our top priority, and the fields are not playable. Our next scheduled camp will take place on Tuesday, June 16th, at Hermits Park in Hammond. We look forward to seeing everyone there for a great session.

FREE NWI OILMEN KIDS’ CAMPS ARE BACK!
Northwest Indiana families, we’ve got your Tuesdays covered this summer! Bring the kids out for a fun, FREE baseball camp with the NWI Oilmen. Kids ages 5–12 can learn the game, make new friends, and spend the morning at the ballpark with our players and coaches.
• Check-in: 9:30 AM
• Camp time: 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
• Cost: FREE

We’ll be hosting camps on Tuesdays in June and July at fields across Hammond and Whiting, including:
