What an incredible day for the Whitinsville Downtown Crossroads Historic District Commission (WDCHDC) 2nd Annual Heritage Day! ☀️🍂

The weather could not have been more perfect, and the turnout was fantastic! We were thrilled to welcome so many community members to explore the rich history of our area and celebrate the past, present, and future of these special places.

Guests had the opportunity to tour one of the future classrooms inside the historic Aldrich School, share memories and stories from their own school days (or those of family and friends), and get excited about the school's ongoing transformation and restoration.

Over at the Whitin Community Center, visitors enjoyed delicious hot dogs from Wickid Wieners, sampled locally roasted coffee from 49 Fathoms Coffee Roasters, and sipped on refreshing brews from Rushford & Sons Brewhouse while visiting booths hosted by the WDCHDC and the Northbridge Historical Society. Families also enjoyed strolling through our Scarecrow Walk, featuring creative entries from Blackstone Valley Children's Place classes, community members and organizations.

One of the day's highlights was seeing our amazing Whitin Community Center's Rockdale Youth Center Youth Outreach Theatre students dressed in 1800s-era attire as they guided guests through Whitin Park, sharing fascinating stories and historical facts during our walking tours.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared memories, learned something new, and helped make the day such a success. We hope you enjoyed Heritage Day as much as we did! ❤️

📸 Here's a fun quiz! If you took one of the historical walking tours, can you identify any of the places, landmarks, or trees featured in the photos below? Let us know your guesses in the comments! 👇🌳🏛️

🩸❤️ Thank You, Blackstone Valley! ❤️🩸

Last week's American Red Cross Blood Drive was an incredible success, and it's all thanks to our amazing community!

Our goal was 35 blood donations, and we're thrilled to share that we surpassed that goal with 39 donations! 🎉

Did you know that each pint of blood can help save up to 3 lives? With 39 generous donors, that's the potential to impact 117 lives. What an incredible difference our community has made together!

Events like these are a powerful reminder of the strength, compassion, and generosity that make the Whitin Community Center and the Blackstone Valley such a special place. When our community comes together, amazing things happen.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to donate, support, volunteer, and help make this event a success. Your willingness to give truly helps save lives.

We look forward to partnering with the American Red Cross again, so keep an eye out for our next Blood Drive coming in early 2027!

💙 Together, we're making a difference, one donation at a time.

🎃👻 What an INCREDIBLE Haunted Skate & Swim! 👻🎃

WOW! What a night! Our Annual Haunted Skate & Swim was a huge success, and it's all thanks to our amazing community! 💙

Our first skate session sold out in just minutes, and our swim sessions weren't far behind! Seeing so many families come together for a night filled with costumes, fun, laughter, and Halloween spirit was truly unforgettable.

Even better, this event helped raise important funds for our Blackstone Valley Children's Place and Whitin Community Center's Rockdale Youth Center. These programs provide valuable support, opportunities, and safe spaces for local children and families, and events like this help us continue to enhance and grow the services we offer.

A very special thank you goes out to our incredible event sponsors: UniBank MA, Koopman Lumber, the Osterman Family Foundation, and Gaudette Insurance Agency, Inc. Their generous support throughout the year helps make community events like this possible. Because of their dedication, we can continue creating opportunities for families to come together, connect, and make lasting memories while supporting programs that strengthen our community. We are truly grateful for their partnership and commitment.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and helped make this event such a success. Your support makes a real difference in the lives of the children and families we serve every day.

We are so grateful for this community and can't wait to see you at our next event! 🎃🛼🏊‍♀️💙
