That's a wrap on July 4th weekend. We had lots of races occur most happened in really hot conditions so times were not important. Here is who placed in there races this past weekend or who had personal or course bests. Hope everyone had a nice 4th as well!
1) had a fantastic run at the Gold Coast Marathon. Jess last ran a marathon in 2019 and had a best of 3:18. Coach got her ready to take a shot at the 3 hour barrier and Jess delivered running a 2:55:42 good for a 22 minute personal best. Not bad for her first marathon in over 6 years! Great Job Jess!
2) .33 t**e part in a Backyard Ultra in Canada and made it 14 rounds good for 58 miles in his first go at the ultra distance.
3) Age group wins in July 4th races were turned in by ( 70-79) at the Squantum 2.2, (55-59) Baltimore 10k, Bree Carlson Thiele ( 45-49), Wisconsin 10k, (45-49) NC 7.4k which was also a personal best there.
4) Other age group placements were turned in by running 28:02 ( 6:15 pace) at the Hingham 4.5 miles good for 2nd female overall. ( 40-44) 2nd age group at the Duxbury 5k, 3rd ( 20-29) in a 5 miler, 3rd ( 40-49) at Billington 5k.
5) had a 2 minute course best at the PeachTree 10k going 44:25. had a course best at the Cheshire 4 miler.

That’s a wrap on June . Not as many races as usual but a productive month still. Here are the pics I have we had two more personal best by Josh roque in the 5k with a 18:42 and Anika montage set a 5k best split during her 3.5 mile race . Congrats to all!

Weekend recap congrats to the following athletes .
1) Congrats to Bronawyn O’Leary for finishing third female and first age group 50-59 going 19:48 at the Pine beach 5k.
2) finishes second female at the Black hills 50k in South Dakota going 5:57.
3) had a race double weekend . Gary ran the Bill Dunn 5 miler and won his age group 70-79 on Saturday. On Sunday Gary came back and ran the Cambridge 5k in 22:13 to win his age group 70-79.
4) Robert Gaw also had a double weekend with the Bristol half on Saturday in 1:44 and on Sunday ran the Berkely 5k in 21:57.
5) ran the big bang 5k in Jacksonville as a workout and finished third age group 40-44.
6) Bill Johncock and Logan aka the Dyanmic Duo won the 60-69 age group at the Firecracker 5k!
6) Kevin Schafer ran the Missoula marathon in 3:24 .
7) Earlier this week at the corporate 5k in Boston ran 24:14 and went 24:29 which was a new PB through the 5k.

Congrats to these athletes that raced this weekend .
1) Josh Roque led the way with a pb of 18:43 at a Chicago 5k.
2) Bradford 5 miler Jason Ciaciura had a pb of 34:13. Jermey Weiss had a solid race of 33:46 .
3) Rick Downey ran a marathon in Winnipeg under trained as he decided to do this race last minute . Rick ran3:17:01 good for third age group 55-59.
4) BAA 10k Ryan Glynn had a nice run of 41:59 and Robert gaw went 46:19 as both athletes used this as a hard workout .
5) Twin cities Antionette Shannon had some challenges so it did not go according to plan but she was able to still get the job done and complete the marathon.

A couple races from the weekend . Congrats to the following athletes .
1) running the super marathon post Boston with big goals to chase a PR. The PR did not happen but Frank still ran a solid race going 2:58.
2) finished second female and first age group(50-59) at a hilly CT 5k .
3) ran race one of his summer triathlon series . Craig had a great showing almost breaking the one hour mark and finishing second age group (60-64).
4) ran the rt 66 10k as a nice hard workout.
5) the t**e on the double challenge yesterday with the mountaineer 4 miler and 10 miler race and had a great day on the hilly course .

New final surge plans up for your fall marathon races . Chicago training plans which work for any flat marathon and New York plans work for any hilly marathon. Different plans based on different weekly mileage 40s per week up to 70s per week .

Busy weekend of races . Co gears to the following athletes .
1) runs a PB of 5:21 to finish 3rd overall in the masters division at the Yakima Mile.
2) nearly breaks 20 and runs an age group best of 20:04 to finish 1st age group 45-49 at the brooks run 5k.
3) Many age group wins turned in at various 5ks where it was more about placement then time on warm weather days . 1st 40-44 and 1st 70-74 at the squirrel run 5k. won 50-54 age group at her 5k in Ct. And wins her age group 65-69 at the Corona Del Mar 5k in California . first 55-59 at the Gloucester half marathon.
4) finished third age group at the pineapple triathlon 5k. third age group in west Roxbury 5k. And third age group in Baltimore ten miler
55-59.
5) ran the Ridge to Rails 50k in NC as a training run for her fall ultras. had a nice run at the Chicago half just two weeks post Capetown as she used it as a workout. completed Chicago as a long run and completed old port half as a long run.

Happy global running day ! Never imagined this sport becoming such a big part of my life. From individual accomplishments in my own running, to having a career as a coach, and the great friendships that have come from it. Running is such a big piece of my life and I am so thankful for it. Hope everyone is able to go out there today and enjoy a run and think of all the great things running has giving you !

That’s a wrap on May races. Not a ton of races in May for us but we still had some great performances turned in. Lots of personal bests, age group placements, and overall race winners. Congrats to all!
