Sometimes the hardest part is admitting that your life can be good and still not feel like enough room to breathe.

There’s a strange kind of guilt in wanting something different when what you have is stable, familiar, and technically working. You can be grateful for your life and still crave more peace, more freedom, more energy, and more room for the people and things that matter most.

And even when you know you want something new, taking that first real step can still feel terrifying. Wanting change doesn’t automatically make change feel safe.

Sometimes the vision is clear, but the timeline changes as the journey unfolds. What you thought would happen in six months may take a year. The path may shift. The plan may stretch. You may have moments where you question your choices, your timing, or whether you’re capable of getting there at all.

But a changing timeline doesn’t mean a failed dream.

Sometimes progress looks like staying where you are a little longer. Sometimes it looks like learning, saving, resting, recalibrating, or quietly building before anyone else can see what’s taking shape.

So much of what we’re craving isn’t perfection. It’s room.

Room to breathe. Room to love. Room to care for ourselves. Room to have something left at the end of the day. Room to build a future that feels lighter than the life we’re simply trying to keep up with.

You don’t have to burn your life down to build something new. Sometimes you build the next version slowly, while still standing inside the current one.

And maybe that’s not being behind.

Maybe that’s what it looks like to build something sturdy enough to last. 🤍

It’s kinda wild how much our goals, dreams, plans, and ideas of the future can change as we grow.

From about 14 until halfway through college, I was convinced I was going to become a licensed professional counselor. That was the future I saw for myself. I didn’t really consider anything else.

But life had other plans.

College challenged me in ways I wasn’t prepared for. I struggled, burned out, changed directions, and eventually had to accept that the path I had pictured for so many years might not actually be mine anymore.

At the time, changing direction felt a little like giving up. Looking back, I don’t see it that way at all.

Every job I’ve had, every difficult season, every person I’ve worked with, and even the experiences that have completely exhausted me have taught me something about myself. I’ve learned what I’m good at, what matters to me, what kind of life I want, what I can no longer tolerate, and most importantly, how I want to serve other people.

The common thread has never really changed: I care deeply about people. I love connection. I love watching people discover things about themselves, grow, make changes, and realize they’re capable of creating something different for their lives.

Maybe the dream didn’t disappear. Maybe it just evolved with me.

Now I’m slowly building a foundation in coaching, with the hope of eventually serving women navigating some of the same things that have shaped me—mental health struggles, relationships, sexuality, identity, life transitions, self-development, self-acceptance, and simply figuring out who the hell we are along the way.

I still don’t know exactly what my career or life will look like years from now. And for once, I don’t think I need to.

We’re allowed to change our minds. We’re allowed to outgrow old plans. We’re allowed to discover that something we once wanted desperately doesn’t fit anymore. And we’re allowed to take everything those old dreams taught us and build something new from it.

Sometimes life doesn’t take you where you planned to go.

Sometimes it shapes you into someone who wants to go somewhere completely different. 🤍

I first read The Odyssey about 11 years ago in a college World Literature class. I wasn’t a huge reader, but I loved it.

Watching the story again today on the big screen, with 11 more years of life behind me, I realized why.

Underneath the monsters, gods, battles and legends… it’s a story about being human.

Odysseus was stubborn. He wanted to be legendary. He wanted to save everyone. And when he failed, he carried those failures as if they said something about his worth.

And I thought… we do that too.

We experience rejection, disappointment, wrong turns and seasons of feeling stuck—and our minds turn those experiences into stories about who we are.

I’m failing. I should be further along. Maybe I chose wrong.

But every difficult chapter isn’t evidence that we’re failing.

It’s part of the epic.

That hit me deeply because lately, I’ve been living in my own messy middle—somewhere between the life I’ve outgrown and the life I’m trying to create.

And I realized something else:

I don’t want to be legendary. I want to be fulfilled.

I want softness. Rest. Joy. Connection. Meaningful work. Adventure. A life that I actually have the energy to experience.

That is success to me.

Maybe the messy middle isn’t stagnation. Maybe it’s the part where we’re being shaped by our choices, our losses, our victories, our stubbornness and everything we’re learning along the way.

We’re all writing an epic with the lives we’re living.

And maybe the chapter you’re struggling through right now will someday be the one you look back on and realize—

this is where my story started to change. 🌿✨

So, what does success actually look like to you—not what you were taught it should look like, but the life you genuinely want to experience?

If you’re in your own messy middle and need someone to help you sort through it, I’m currently offering free coaching while I continue growing in my practice. It doesn’t have to be a formal call, either. If messaging feels more comfortable, we can start there. 🤍

I’m not worried about how long the journey takes.

Whether it requires two years or five, this chapter will still end with me creating everything I once promised myself.

It’s getting too claustrophobic for me. I’m outgrowing this season of life.

It’s getting too claustrophobic for me. I’m outgrowing this season of life.

When your self-worth begins to rise, the places, people and patterns that once felt familiar may no longer feel aligned.

That is not you being difficult - that is you growing.

Your mind moves towards what feels familiar, so begin making your highest self familiar:

I am allowed to take up space.
I am allowed to want more.
I am allowed to change.
I am allowed to outgrow what no longer fits.
I am becoming the person I was always meant to be.

Do not shrink to stay where you have outgrown.

Save this as a reminder that your growth is not something to apologize for - comment CONFIDENCE and I will send you my Confidence Bundle Audio for tremendous sense of self-esteem ✨
