We climb because we remember. 🇺🇸
Yesterday, members of Wild Eyes traveled to Oklahoma City for the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, something that has become incredibly meaningful to our gym family.
For us, this one is personal.
Our Al lost his brother, FDNY Firefighter David DeRubbio of Engine 226, on September 11, 2001.
So every year, we show up.
We climb the stairs. We carry the names. We remember the 343 firefighters and every life lost that day. But we also go for Al, to stand beside our friend as he honors his brother.
There are some things that remind you that community is so much bigger than the four walls of a gym. This is one of them.
We train together. We hurt together. We celebrate together. And when something matters to one of our own, we show up together.
David DeRubbio, you are remembered.
Al, we’ll keep climbing beside you. ❤️
