Congratulations to Laila Hernandez on earning Honorable Mention All-State as a midfielder, as voted on by the Kansas High School Soccer Coaches Association!

While CCA did not field a girls soccer team this season, Laila and four more Lady Lions joined forces with the Classical School of Wichita through a cooperative partnership and represented our school with excellence. We are proud of her hard work, dedication, and achievement on the field.

We are excited to announce that Mr. Austin McBeth has been named our new Athletic Director!

Many CCA families already know Austin through his work teaching strength and conditioning classes, serving as our Head Boys Basketball Coach, and as Director of Development. In his new role, he will continue teaching and coaching while transitioning from fundraising to overseeing our athletics and activities programs.

Of course, we’ve assured Austin that athletics still comes with plenty of fundraising opportunities!

Please join us in congratulating Mr. McBeth on this new leadership role. We are grateful for his commitment to CCA and look forward to the continued impact he will have on our students, teams, and school community!

State Bound! The HS Track teams competed well at the 2A Regional meet on Thursday! Congratulations to Lola Catlin, Cameron Garrelts, Kailyn Jackson, Jaye McCurdy, Ellie Petz, Emery Sturm, and Levi Sturm for qualifying for the State meet next week at Wichita State University. The Boys team placed 4th and the Girls placed 6th as a team. There were also many personal bests, including 5 school records. Go Lions!

The JH Track teams finished the season strong at the HOA League meet hosted by Re*****on yesterday. There were numerous personal best performances and medalists, including Andre Schroeder winning the 100m, 200m, 400m, and Long Jump events! The 7th Grade Boys placed 2nd in the team standings. Congratulations to Coach Burchfiel, Coach Marker, and teams on a great season!

The JH Girls Soccer team completed their season, finishing with a semifinal loss to the Wichita Warriors. The team grew tremendously throughout the season and had many highlights, including a game winning goal with 2 seconds left against the Defenders earlier this season. Thank you Coach Bowman, Coach Hardy, Coach Halvorson, and team for your hard work and effort this season. Go Lions!
